I would highly recommend this hotel if you drive. But if you are travelling by public transport, it's a bit out of the way. The staff is nice and the room is comfortable and clean. There is a western style bedroom and a tatami sleeping area. The location of the bedroom is a bit strange as it is right next to the entrance and the window opens to the external corridor where guests commute to their rooms. That's why we end up sleeping in the tatami area. Other than that, the stay is quite a...

The hotel is kept well. The service was brilliant.

We had an amazing stay at Hakone Hotel Kowaki-en. Since its recent renewal, the hotel feels incredibly modern, clean, and welcoming. The highlight was definitely the open-air hot spring on the top floor—soaking in the onsen while taking in the stunning mountain views was pure bliss. The buffet was another pleasant surprise; both breakfast and dinner offered a fantastic variety of fresh seafood, sashimi, and even free-flowing drinks. Location-wise, it’s highly convenient as the bus stop is...

Our room was with an open-air bath and it was really great! Dinner we had was excellent. Staff was very nice and helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much.
