Carmel Hidden Beach Hotels

"Great stay at Carmel Mission Inn! Had a room with balcony that faced the pool. It just so happened to be movie night both nights we stayed, so we could watch the movie from our balcony! Beautiful view of the hills as well. Room was nice, clean, modern decor, with the typical amenities. Staff was friendly, easy check in (which lucky for us was earlier than the check in time), and check out. Didn't use the pool or gym. Did use room service with the restaurant on site. Very quick and yummy, but pricey. Location was across the parking lot to the Barnyard, super convenient for dining, not so much for places to shop there though. Across the street was a shopping center with CVS, Safeway, other shops and places to eat. About 10 minutes or less to Carmel By the Sea, and about 15-20 minutes to Monterey. "

"This place is so lovely! The staff was great, very helpful and welcoming. It’s centrally located to Carmel by the sea, Monterey and Big Sur. We got a renovated bathroom which was great. The bed was so comfortable. Our room was on the second floor with a balcony which we enjoyed. The little cabins look very nice and well kept. We hope to stay in one next time. Highly recommend this place. "

"We had a wonderful two week stay at this secluded Adobe cottage in the hills overlooking Carmel. The weather was cold at the beginning, so we enjoyed reading by the warmth of the LR fire which burned real wood amply provided. Once the clouds parted the temperatures rose into the 60s and we enjoyed morning gourmet coffee overlooking breathtaking views of mountains and sea. Lou was very responsive to our every need and his cleaning lady sweetly allowed us a grace period the day we packed up to leave. A unique & very special hideaway."

"I loved my stay at Villa Mara Carmel! The room was super clean and comfortable, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier. They had tons of great recommendations for things to do around town. And the breakfast—wow. I almost never eat breakfast, but this one was seriously amazing and totally worth it. Such a great experience overall!"

"We called ahead to avoid being put in a room we had stayed in before, where staff constantly walk past the window at the exact height of the bed. There are no top-down curtains, so this feels very intrusive. Guess what room we got? Yep. The same one. We have stayed here 3 times, and 2 of those have been terrible. Great location, but very poor layout, and the staff seems frustrated with their jobs, so not responsive to guests. "
