The Close Hotel

"Hotel is in the centre of town with an easy walk to multiple restaurants in the evening. Room was spacious but no air conditioning which would have helped in the heatwave. Dinner is restaurant was good but breakfast was a disappointment. Toast was burnt, the bacon had been under a heat lamp for a long time and was dry but worst of all was the poached eggs which despite asking for runny eggs arrived solid cooked and the waitress refused to change them quoting health and safety and when I questioned how that manage to have dippy eggs on the menu as they would be runny she replied they only serve eggs cooked for 4-6 minutes and that’s all they will do. Unfortunately As we could not get them changed I left without having breakfast that morning."

"The staff were very helpful and the room was lovely, it was in the courtyard and we had a little area to sit outside on chairs with a little table. The outside seating for the bar and restaurant was a bit noisy but once in the room with the windows closed you couldn’t hear anything,"

"Our large bedroom was amazing and very comfortable. Evening meal and breakfast were good. It was busy so we ate upstairs. Breakfast is served in the bar area . We were well looked after"

"The Sooty Fox is a charming period Inn that has been tastefully updated. the rooms are well equipped, very comfortable and very clean. The lounge and dining areas are comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning to The Snooty Fox."

"The house is cozy and comfortable. The housekeeper answers quickly and is very friendly and accommodating. It has a spacious garden with gold finches and window seats. The surroundings are beautiful, horse polo very close and a lot to do a bit further away."

"Our expectations were exceeded from the minute we arrived. The cottage is absolutely beautiful. It was spotlessly clean. Had absolutely everything you could think of from bin liners, washing up liquid, scourers, tea bags, milk. There were plenty of lovely fluffy towels. Beds were really comfy with lovely crisp white bedding. The garden was big and was so quiet. It was perfect for our little dog. The cottage is very rural, but if it's peace & quiet you want it's absolutely perfect. We loved it and will definitely booking to return."

"Het was een heerlijk huisje. Wel jammer dat je door een raam moet klimmen om in de achtertuin te komen. Voor dames op leeftijd valt dit niet mee. De sfeer van het huisje is super! je voelt je meteen thuis. Ruimte genoeg. Het is ook heerlijk schoon. Binnen hoor je het verkeer bijna niet. Heel fijn. Het huisje ligt wel aan een drukke straat. Het is goed opletten als je buiten komt. Het dorp is geweldig. Op loopafstand van het centrum. Heerlijke winkeltjes, geweldige restaurants, vriendelijke mensen. De omgeving is geweldig om met de auto doorheen te rijden. Kortom, fantastisch om te verblijven."
