“Nice village hotel and our check in and room were good on the face of it. Other than the guy who checked us in, staff was generally rude. We had booked for breakfast at 08:00 on the first morning, and having travelled the previous day from Asia ended up waking earlier and found ourselves waiting in the breakfast room around 7:10, hoping to be able to request breakfast at 7:30 when it opened. We were greeted by a man in a hurry, brusquely telling us over his shoulder whilst rushing around doing……

“Staff were lovely”

“The hotel was really lovely, but could have been even better if the tables in library room were cleared to allow guests to use them. We put cups etc from our table onto one which had not been cleared and despite staff bringing food and drinks, they ignored the mess for over an hour until another guest asked for the table to be cleared. Staff should never walk past dirty tables.”

“Room below par. Felt grubby, didn’t smell nice throughout the hotel including reception which gave poor first experience. ”

“A very comfortable place to stay, really love all facilities and decoration. It's ancient but fashion one. The staffs are really nice and very helpful. I will love to stay there again. By the way, the breakfast and dinner are really delicious.”

“Superb breakfast menu, excellent chef and warm welcome. Room was warm and bathroom was clean. Everything spoke of excellence. The staff were friendly and helpful. Thank you for a lovely stay and we will return. Housekeeping do an excellent job too.”

“Room 7 extractor fan not working. Both windows can’t be propped open. No mirror over desk so hairdryer cannot be plugged in near a mirror. Shower floods bathroom floor. All staff tried hard but were overstretched. At breakfast many things were only available if asked for. Evening meals not good value for money. This is not a 4 star hotel. ”

“Absolutely wonderful stay. We were made to feel so welcome and well cared for. After letting the team know about our special dietary requirements (gluten-free), the manager was outstanding in ensuring we were fully accommodated — to the point that the service surpassed what I’ve experienced in some so-called 5-star hotels. A special mention to Evie, who was an absolute delight. Our room was clean and beautifully presented — a testament to excellent housekeeping.”
