A real gem

Absolutely loved this place. Covered all of the bases for our overnight stay while passing through the area. Check-in was super efficient and friendly, as were the staff we spoke to the following morning.

Great stay at Kiwi Holiday Park

We stayed in a wheelchair-accessible room. The Park was very clean and well laid out, the concrete drive up to the door was wonderful to unload onto and the unit was small but very clean. I didn't go to the shared area, but my friend did the washing and said it was beautiful. The only negative thing we found was the carpet as we found it hard to move my wheelchair and hoist on, but this would only apply specifically to us. Staff lovely

OK. This could be a very short review. This holiday park...I mistakenly called it a motel because we were travelling round NZ using principally motels...is perfect, no 'ifs' or 'but'. Whoever designed it clearly knew the needs of their various customers and built a site which catered for each. There are units which appear designed for very short stays, for longer ones, for motorhomes and for campers. Each has seperate areas with the use of comprehensive facilities including an extensive play area (well away from the accommodation!). The unit we had was immaculate. It literally looked as if it had never been used. There was everything you might need to cook basic meals. The bed was very comfortable. And it was all so well presented. I asked how long they had been opened thinking this must be their first season. It is five years old. It is a real testament to the staff who care for the units and the whole site. It is arguably the best site of this style I have visited. If you are journeying the west coast this has to be a place to stop. Hokitika is in itself a hidden gem so explore the town and stay here. Oh, and you'll get a great friendly welcome in reception. I should have kept it short...it's a perfect place to stay.

Place was great and fairly new, we stayed 2 nights, had a private shower and toilet which was good, but there is a communal shower/toilet block as well as a large shared kitchen ,laundry and family/games rooms, with bar-b-q's nearby.. Its a large place with plenty of room for RV's as well. The only thing was no a/c in the room, it does get quite hot in there but luckily we didn't have very hot days while there. Do bring your own shower gels and soap if renting a room with a bathroom as there were none provided, also had to ask for some milk, but he did give 1st one free. Only things l didn't like was the vanity was narrow and no hook for towel close to the shower. Would stay there again as long as not during summer...
