Red Roof Inn Hong Kong Island hotels

"Positives: - The view of the harbour from the room we had chosen was absolutely worth the extra money - a constant entertainment to see what was going on. Negatives: - A bit far from the nearest MTR station (hard to fix that one!) - Disappointing breakfast buffet. I realise it is hard to cover a range of cuisines, and the buffet did have Indian, Chinese and Western options, but the Western options were much worse than expected at this price point. The pastries were poorly cooked, the croissants were only recognisable as such by their shape, the bread choices were very soft and lacking in chewiness, the breakfast cereals only had all bran as a healthy option (no muesli), the fresh fruit range only had watermelon and pineapple, and the menu didn’t vary over the three days we ate there. "

"Modern, clean, luxurious hotel with a beautiful infinity pool, sauna, steam room, and rooftop cocktail bar. We had a high floor room with harbour view which was so worth it. The location is close to transit and in a newer area that is a bit more chill away from tourist crowds. What more can you want"

"A good location, however room and bed were rather small. Quite difficult for two persons. Couldn’t really open your suitcase properly. Room and hotel were clean though."

"Concierge, Doorman, Check-In personel, Cleaning Staff, Room Service, Bellhop…all of them were extremely helpful, polite, and very efficient. I always try to stay at Marriott Hotels when I can. They never disappoint. Fantastic Location too. "

"AVOID! Shockingly poor service and weathered rooms! I am not a fussy traveller and stayed im BW brand hotels in at least 5 countries and this experience was so disappointing I don't think I will be rushing back. The reception were completely unhelpful - upon checkin they refused to give me my prepaid room because my name said "Iggy" and not "Ignas" as per my passport. They said i will just have to make a new reservation. JOKERS! I contacted the hotel app i booked it through and they have updated the reservation in seconds. The reception said "they will accept the amendment on this one ocassion only" - trying to pretend they did not just try to scam me to pay for the same nights twice. There was a manager there too, he kept repeating same things as well. Even when I asked what would be the best course of action they just kept saying "book.new reservation". Finally got my room and its pretty disappointing too - black mold in the bathroom, cracking and stained walls, very loud aircon with unstable airflow.. At least the view is decent, cause I am struggling to find anything positive to say."
