“Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotels beach was not really kid friendly, or even adult friendly. (at least not for me) There was no space to put our towels and beach accessories. We walked about 5 extra minutes to get to the other side of the beach, which was in front of another hotel and it was a little nicer there. There was a beach about 5 min away (by car), from the hotel (Playa Carillo), and it was BEAUTIFUL! Brian, the manager was so kind to give us a ride in his personal car……

“Hung up in unbelievable traffic in Santa Cruz, I was not able to check into the hotel until 7 AM the next day when they reopened. So I don't have the overnight experience one expects. That said, the room was very clean, the shower had good hot water, and I did get a morning nap on the bed. Fort7nately, it is off the road a bit. But noise carries and young Costa Ricans love their motorcycles. So if you are super noise sensitive that might bother you, but the traffic is really light on that……

“It is a very beautiful property with amazing views! The staff was very friendly. They were constantly cleaning. The food was great and reasonably priced. (We have had a hard time with finding good food for a good price in the previous places we stayed. The beach was incredible! It is a a tough drive on gravel would recommend a 4 wheel drive with good tires. We had a small car and had to go very slow. There is three creeks that need to be crossed we were okay because it is the dry hot season.”

“Extremely secure and secluded. Villa to villa distance is quite far and we could not see or hear anyone else. Grounds are very large, beach is pretty much private but you should know it’s a bit of a walk from some of the villas around to the restaurant and beach. Private pool was very nice and overall good stay. Staff were friendly and helpful and very easy to communicate with, 10/10 for the staff! ”

“The Sunset Shack was fantastic for our family trip to Nosara. The beach is super close, and the town is very cute. We were right in the middle of it all. Monkeys in the mango trees on the property in the morning, and iguanas roaming all day. The food, the staff, and the hotel itself were all 5 stars! We would love to return to Nosara, and would not stay anywhere else. Thank you Sunset Shack!”

“Our stay at Hotel Amira was beyond expectations and exceptional. The location and the staff, especially the hotel manager, went above and beyond to make our stay more than comfortable. The location was great. Several choices of restaurants nearby and close to beaches. Having stayed at many places in Costa Rica I would highly recommend Hotel Amira as a great place to stay.”

“Nuestra estancia en este hotel en Costa Rica fue en general agradable. La limpieza de la habitación fue excelente y el aire acondicionado funcionaba muy bien, lo cual hizo la estancia muy cómoda. También las instalaciones del hotel estaban limpias y bien cuidadas. Sin embargo, el desayuno ofrecía poca variedad para vegetarianos. Además, siempre había solo dos tipos de fruta disponibles, lo cual resultaba algo limitado. La zona de la piscina era agradable, pero había muy pocos lugares con……
