“Really lovely staff and the check in experience was very pleasant. The room was just about acceptable in terms of cleanliness but the toilet was not clean and still had used paper in it. The room and the surroundings were very tired and beyond worn in some places, especially the carpet on the stairs which was very dirty. As there was no breakfast, we could not comment on it. It’s such a shame because the setting is quite pleasant and it could be a lovely place to visit. ”

“The Belfry is brilliantly well run. The staff are by far the best I've ever met in any hotel in my entire life. Truly brilliant. Friendly, engaging, funny, professional and confident. Proud of where they work and their part in it. Not unctuous just terrific.
They should let the managers run the country.
And before you dismiss my enthusiasm for the ramblings of someone who doesn't get out. I travel the world always staying at the best hotels. The Belfry was my third that week.”
