Old world tranquility

I was traveling with my two young adult sons. We appreciated the simplicity of the home and its original craftsmanship with enough modern convenience to make our stay very comfortable. It was not too far from the center of town and had lovely shrines just a few meters up the hill. The host was very helpful familiarizing us with the amenities. We would stay here again for sure. We loved Kyoto.

Beautiful Traditional House

The house is a beautiful traditional Kyoto house with nice old furniture. The rooms were good sized and it was great to have 2 bathrooms and a washing machine. The neighborhood is really out of the way from all the main shopping and touristy areas. This is a plus if you don't want to be around the crowds. The neighborhood is really scenic and quiet. We walked to the main areas (about 25 minutes) but the 206 bus is only a 5 minute walk (and conveniently located near the 7-Eleven). The Taxi Go app came in handy when we left to go to Kyoto station since suitcases are frowned upon on the local bus. My only complaint was I slept in the futon room downstairs and there were no linens. I contacted thru VRBO the first day and got no response. Aside from that, this was a great place to stay and I highly recommend it.
