The location was great. The staff were pleasant. Breakfast was fine. The shower head would not stay in place. The light over the shaving mirror did not work. We reported the above 2 defects in our first day and they were not fixed by the time we left after 3 days.

Think Faulty Towers!! This hotel has charm, character and staff bursting with personalities of all types! It is all the more endearing as it needs updating most everywhere but we will have fond memories of our stay (mainly due to the staff!) and was a great location for the Beacon Park Festival.

The hotel doesn't have a restaurant any more except for breakfast. It's listed as having a restaurant and this is my one of my main criteria when booking a hotel. They do allow take away deliveries. The staff make up for the lacking of the hotel.
