We were put on the top floor, floor 4. Paid for the bigger suite as-well. Elevators were broke the whole 2 night, 3 day trip. The stairs are very steep and tiring to go up and down from and we are pretty healthy in our early 30’s. Also tried calling for room service on our first night but no answer after about 8 attempts. I went down to order & collect the room service myself and carried it all back up myself. Room was pretty decent, not the comfiest bed, pillows were hard, scuffs and marks on the walls. Really didn’t feel it deserved the 5* rating, I expected more. Positive side, great location.

Stayed at the squint splash suite for a special occasion. The room is rather old. For the price, I would expect the hotel to atleast give a complimentary bottle of champagne for special occasions. But it did not feel special, hence the okay (3) score. The bathroom is very slippery so be cautious. I almost slipped. There is no fridge. The hot tub was throwing water everywhere and there was no way to turn it off unless asked at reception. The room is on -1 level. The breakfast was ok too, no made to order food. Staff was good and helpful. Overall, the price of the room is just for the space since it’s big and in South Kensington. And the bathroom is big too. But definitely not worth the price at all. At this price, I would expect outstanding quality but it truly was just okay.

The bathroom was very poor, the sink was so set back between two interior walls that I had to stand sideways to brush my teeth. The light in our room 104 kept flickering, reported to reception and never got fixed in the 3 nights staying there and the bed slats were broken

This is a beautiful boutique hotel in a great location. South Kensington tube station is a 5 minute safe walk away and it serves the Piccadilly Line which is a direct transit to Heathrow airport, Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square, Covent Garden, Knightsbridge …. which made my life a lot easier as a solo traveller. The hotel is spotless and my bedroom on the first floor was lovely. The photos on Expedia website do this hotel justice. I didn’t avail of breakfast but on the night I arrived I had dinner in the hotel and I found it very tasty. Before I arrived I sent several messages via the Expedia app to the hotel. All messages were answered promptly and all my requests were granted. The biggest compliment I can pay this hotel is to say that for my next visit to London I will endeavour to stay here again. Thank you to all staff I encountered on my visit. I haven’t anything negative to comment on.

Das Hotel ist ein altes umgebautes Kensingtoner Wohnhaus. Es ist voll von witzigen Details und einfallsreichen Deko-Momenten. Man kann ständig etwas Neues entdecken. Ein schönes kleines Boutique-Hotel, das nicht so überlaufen ist. Die Auswahl beim Frühstück ist nicht gerade opulent, aber es reicht auf jeden Fall. Porridge muss man sich selbst machen, Quaker to-go Becher mit Wasser aufgießen und warten. Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam, nett und hilfsbereit. Die charmante Hotel-Managerin ist aus Deutschland und begrüßt die Gäste persönlich. Mein Zimmer war zwar klein, hatte aber alles, was ich brauchte, inkl. Kaffee und Tee-Bar, mit kleinen Keksen und Crisps. Es war sauber. Das Badezimmer war geräumig, mit Dusche und Badewanne. Etwas gewöhnungsbefürftig ist der Boden im Zimmer: man hat scheinbar auf die alten Kensingtoner Holzdielen eine Art Gummibelag und darauf Teppich ausgelegt. Somit fühlte sich der Boden zu weich und zu uneben zum Laufen. Ein etwas komisches Gefühl. Unschlagbar ist die Lage des Hotels: South Kensington Station ist in 5 min fußläufig zu erreichen, in kurzer Zeit auch das Natural History Museum, das V&A und die Royal Albert Hall. Die Umgebung ist sehr ruhig und man kann da gut schlafen. Allerdings würde ich ein Zimmer in einer höheren Preiskategorie wählen, da man ansonsten einen eher unschönen Blick aus dem Fenster riskiert: Auf eine Art grauen Schacht / Technikbereich / Verbindungsstück zwischen 2 Hausmauern. Ich würde da dennoch wieder übernachten.

I stayed with my husband for 3 nights in October. The location is great however we were placed in the smallest room ever. What disturbed me the most was the cleanliness of the bathroom. The shower walls were dirty. There's was mold around the shower door and the tub was leaking a greenish substance out of the facets. Upon check out I was not even asked how my stay was. Maybe she knew that I probably got the worse room in the hotel. A better and cleaner room would it be appreciated.
