Very basic; needs a deep clean badly. Staff was cordial.
This is the worst hotel I have ever booked. Looks really good online until we arrived. The front door was broken. The room reeked of cigarettes and dogs. The walls looked as if they hadn’t been cleaned/washed in months and the kitchen chairs were dirty with cigarette burns. The Manager did move us into a nicer room. However it smelled like a sewer. LAPD showed to another room banging yelling LAPD with guns cocked 10 deep. NEVER will I EVER stay here again. Book at your own risk!!!

The hotel was overall what I expected, but there were some glaring issues. No coffee or breakfast like was listed. No washcloths. And the other guests can be very loud at all hours of the night. However, the staff was attentive and friendly, it’s in a convenient location, and the free parking is amazing.
The pictures didn’t look nothing like the rooms. Rooms was nasty dirty and Tweakers lives there up all night. My room was not good won’t go there no more.
HORRIBALE place looks like a half way house for druggies blood stains on the wall holes in the bathroom walls checked in at 6pm and left home at 10pm I have a newborn and a wife absolute disgusting I lost 400$ on this trip I didn’t get any refund and I will never book through hotels.com they are just as bad tried two days in a row for them to contact the hotel both times said I’d get email confirming some type of refund but I never did HORRIBALE
I like the way that it has a kitchen and the dining area Inside the room... comfortable beds.... Friendly staff members at Check-in... Plenty of space to move around full-size fridge always helps ...everything works...underground parking...
good stay over all...thank you
Stayed here many times!! But the cleanliness have gone all the way out the door!
The carpets were filty, the walls were dirty, counters and floors weren't cleaned! Very disappointed
The building was an architectural beauty, but what they don't tell you is that it's also an SRO. There seems to be a lot of folks staying their involved in a lot of illicit activity.

I travel a lot, I spend a lot of time in hotels and have since the early 90's. I've built and renovated hotels and casinos.I have diamond status with several large chains, but my heart still yearns to properties like this. I stayed here after severing a relationship with a property that I had stayed at for the last 5 years, often twice per month 2-3 days per stay. I like to stay at the same place. I'm looking for my new regular stay in LA, I look at the following:
Safety & Surrounding Area
Cleanliness & Hygiene
Professional, Accommodating & Friendly Staff
Amenities -Late Check Out, Business Services, Snacks on Site
Ingress/Egress/Parking

This is a historic hotel. Janis Joplin died here in 1970 when I was 8 months old. Many other stars and musicians stayed here in Hollywood's golden age.
First the Pros:
1- Very nice & accommodating Staff. This makes up for a LOT if not all of the shortcomings.
2- This Hotel gave me (as a first time guest, a 2PM Late Check Out) This is
Anbefales veldig.
Great location, lobby is beautiful, good rates. That's it for the stuff I liked. This was my third stay at this hotel. I always expect the rooms to be a bit run-down, but this last time was just gross. The room was dirty. The carpets were filthy and lifting up off the floor. The hardware in the bathrooms had been ripped off and left un-repaired. There was a mysterious dark substance splattered on the walls by the bed. The worst was the shower. There was thick, black mold growing everywhere. The only part of the room that seemed remotely clean was, thankfully, the bedding. The rooms are LOUD, especially in the morning. I realize it's a busy part of Hollywood. Traffic sounds are expected. I didn't expect hours of a man singing loudly in the hallway, or loud banging sounds like pipe-work happening all around us at 7am.
Needs a good cleaning. Cobwebs, Mold in bathroom. Had to request housekeeping to clean the dishes since they left no cleaning supplies

great location
The location is excellent and the staff are really nice. We stayed in the cheapest rooms and they are not in the best of shape - the carpets in particular really need attention (as did the side of the bed for our friends which was stained) But, I would stay there again and just pay for a better one as it seemed that at least some of the better rooms have had more updating. And, again, the location is fantastic and the people friendly. Just don't rent the cheapest "city view" rooms or at least recognize they aren't in the best condition.

The carpet in the bedroom had a lot of stains. The sofa was not a sofa bed like how it was stated in the description before we booked.

Great location to stay. Underground garage parking is great. The hotel is over all good the rooms however could use a pick me up. The mattress was pretty old and not comfy and the coaches had stains on them. Kinda pricy for condition of room but it served it purpose for a one night stay
I would not recommend staying here!! We had the room w/the kitchenette & it was a dump!! The beds were awful it was old no counter space in the bathroom. We needed a plunger for the toilet and the staff said you arent the first or the last so apparently there are plumbing issues. The first floor looks nice not sure why we were put on the 2nd fl which was awful. Couldnt find an elevator had to carry all our bags ourselves upstairs. Parking is underground in a creepy garage. Would not stay here again!! The only good thing is its not far from Hollywood Blvd.
I stayed here last weekend for my birthday. I’ve stayed here before with some friends and liked it. When I checked in on my birthday Sean at the front desk was super nice and helpful. And when I got to my room and opened it I realized that he upgraded my room and gave me two bottles for my birthday from the hotel. Really made me birthday extra special. I’ll definitely will be coming back here frequently.
Everything was wounderful here the hosts do more than enough to make sure you have what you need. Ill definately be staying here everytime I go to LA thank you
