Lovely comfy room, fan provided during the extreme heat. Lovely small, mostly shaded, terrace at the back of the hotel. Delicious breakfast and very helpful, friendly staff. There is one set of steep, narrow stairs to get to the rooms although help was offered to carry up our case.

My fiancé and our 2 year old had a fantastic getaway in the New Forest based here. Ideal location to stroll into town (plenty of restaurants shops and pubs) within 5 minutes or Boltons Bench (a nice grassy area with wild ponies) in 10. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. A nice sized room on the top floor which was perfect and moved into the apartments for our last night which was amazing-so much space! Good parking and breakfast so ideal to get up and go to explore nearby, Longdown activity farm and moors valley country park being the highlights for our son. Worth noting there’s no lift so had to carry the pushchair upstairs which I really didn’t mind but could be an issue for some.

4th visit to hotel which is convenient for visiting our son. Rooms are clean and breakfast is excellent. Ask for ground or first floor as 2nd floor are in roof and awkward if tall.

It is about 25 mins drive to princess cruise port and a good place for one night stay. I was a bit worried about carrying suitcases upstairs. Susan relied to my question before my trip and offered assistance if needed. There are several local restaurants within 5 mins walking. My husband left one bag in Uber car. Susan helped call our driver and had the bag back on time. Breakfast on the second day was excellent. We had very good time there. I will consider to book again in future.

Friendly helpful staff. I travelled with my dog and she was made very welcome - even getting her own sausage at breakfast. Great shower in the room. Would stay again when passing through. The only downside was the uncomfortable pillows.

Convenient and good hotel

The Penny Farthing Hotel is in easy walking distance to the High Street, our room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was excellent. We were street side and did have traffic noise but that was not an issue for us, or can the hotel stop the traffic all night!! We would definitely stay here again.
