"Room was quirky but clean. Parking was easy and free. Check in was a little wonky as reception was a little hidden. The walls are suuuper thin. The bed was comfy and the shower hot."
"The hotel is very run down. The bedroom was ok but smelt like someone had been smoking in it. The Scouse female member of staff had zero customer service skills! On check in we were completely ignored as she argued with another member of the team about another guests breakfast payment. The gentleman who check me in was polite. We came to the bar later on for a drink and the same female member of staff once again ignored us completely and couldn't even acknowledge our presence. Another female member of staff came from through the back and yelled..."is anyone waiting". Food manners cost nothing and can either make it break the experience of an average hotel. I wouldn't return."
"Cheap alternative to staying in Fort William, great location and nice room. Parking is free for hotel guests and you get a discount on the Gondola as well as at the bar and gift shops. Quiet when I was there though I'm sure it gets much busier at other times of the year. Would stay there again!"
"Parkimg was easy enough as we had arrived not long after check in. We had to call to get the door codes as the email wasnt sent as it was ment to. We had a family room which had a seperate area with the 2 singles beds which was nice to have a little kid free time once they were asleep. One of the single beds was broken on arrival so I called duty manager who didnt answer but sent a text and someone was up within a few minutes and sorted it quickly with a new bed base. There were areas if the room that could have benefited from a dust but the beds were clean and the shower had more ompf than ours at home"
"I’ll start by saying I don’t often make reviews unless something is really good, or really bad. And this one was really bad.
To preface, I’ve travelled a bunch, stayed in group hostels, cheap airbnbs and done lots to save a few bucks on a trip.
This place really is just not something I’d recommend anyone to spend money on. Spend the extra few dollars and go somewhere else.
Check in was fine, there was no one at the desk for a few minutes then someone came out and quickly checked us in, pretty much saying nothing but “your stay doesn’t include breakfast”, “sign here” and “you’re in room 9 up the stairs”, and pointed where to go. Not my experience with most hotels but maybe they skipped their hospitality training.
We went up to the room, the door kind of looks like Harry Potter’s door under the stairs.
We got in and I’ll list below what I observed and what I came to find in the coming hours:
Pros:
- nice view on the mountains
Cons:
- tv mounted on the wall fully crooked
- ceiling had a lamp shade that was falling off
- One of the bed side lights didn’t work at all
- Cob webs all over the side of the wall in one corner
- Wall paper peeling off the walls
- Black mold on the ceiling in the shower
- Cold water tap moves out of place entirely when you turn it on
- Shower fills up with water while using it because it doesn’t drain properly
- bottom sheet in the bed. mattress cover, top sheet, comforter, one pillow each.
- Toilet is constantly running
- wifi sucks
"
"Clean, mostly comfortable room - the pillows were the only let down. We had a really lovely evening meal in the pub and very good breakfast. There was an unpleasant smell of smoke in the hallway outside our room
which was likely from the cigarette bin immediately outside. "
