You will hear noise of the demolition of the existing stucco and may have swing stages and workers on the east side exterior of the building outside the windows. For the duration of the project, the courtyard (east side) and portion of the upper parking garage will be closed for access. This condo is located on the far east side of the tower.

Tired and outdated property

Excellent location with great view but the property was a tired and outdated condo with various issues. We had good communication with the property manager until we addressed the issues and never heard from them again. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it to my friends. We didn’t let it affect the fun we had on our vacation because we love Destin but won’t be back to this condo.

We were glad to see security was top notch. Not just anyone can come/go. We had all the info we needed to check in/out thru the app. The only "issue" we had was that a couple of the electrical plus on the mirrored wall did not work and some of the cooking pans are scratched and need replacing. But the view and cleanliness were great. Would come again!

14th floor condo overlooking the Sandestin beach to the east

This is a pretty typical condo for Sandestin beachside 1 or 2. A bonus is that it is an end unit so there are views to the east & northeast in addition to the beautiful view of the gulf. The pictures in the listing are quite accurate (other than the carpet-see below). The furnishings aren't new but it felt clean. The recent replacement of the carpeting with wood-type flooring is a huge plus. The kitchen had the basic essentials for quick meal prep but not elaborate. The building is well maintained and we were able to park in the covered garage. We hadn't been to Sandestin in a few years; I had forgotten how stunning the pure white sand and water color were. We were there during spring break (mid March) and were hoping the beach wouldn't be too crazy. Overall, I'd say there were more families than college kids. Really, a pretty good mix of people. If you want a quieter beach scene, just walk east on the beach for a couple hundred yards.

The view and beach access can’t be beat. There is a bar and other conveniences right on the gated beach as well as a full restaurant on site. The flooring has been updated since the photos (no carpet) and the overall experience was perfect.

Great birthday getaway for wife

We stayed 4 nights on mid August. Was able to get an early check in, and process was seamless. The unit was in reasonably good shape (bed is a little stiff but that's personal preference), and the view is breathtaking. Everything was going great until the 2nd night, when the air conditioning suddenly stopped working. I immediately emailed platinum vacations, and received a reply before 6am that they would immediately be sending a technician out that morning to fix it. We decided to go to the beach early that day, and before we even came back for lunch, the AC was fixed. In addition to that, Platinum Vacations gave us a full refund for that nights stay without me even asking! They turned a potential nightmare for my wife's birthday into a positive with great customer service. We will definitely be back!

Close to beach, pool was clean.

Floors felt gritty with sand, and were hard to clean. Only one roll bath tissue, and when I asked for more was told only one is provided. Elevators were always backed up, as one was out of order our entire stay. I know that wasnt the rental co's fault, but frustrating the same.

Beautiful ocean view!

Overall very nice. Would recommend unit 4344. Clean and comfortable. Like most rentals in condos it needed some maintenance. I will send message to agency regarding those issues. Unit smelled clean and fresh (very important to me). Unlike my friends who rented on 1st floor near pool, smelled awful.

NO FULL DISCLOSURE ON PROPERTY CONDITION

You can not beat the location or the beach at Sandestin. We have stayed in various units there for over 20 years. This was the absolute worse condition that we have ever seen in a condo. What is even more upsetting is: the owner of the unit knows about the deficiencies and had done nothing about them and the response we get from VRBO when bringing everything to their attention, at 5pm on a Friday, is basically: if you don't like it, leave and go somewhere else (and the reason you got such a good deal on the unit is because of the condition it is in....but no where in the listing to they point out everything that is wrong). This the second, and last time, that we will ever be renting through VRBO. Here is a short list of what we discovered: The hinge for the glass shower door is coming out of the wall, causing a misalignment resulting in the glass door banging into the glass support (not safe), the towel bar was missing, the bathroom door is rotting out at the bottom, electrical receptical in the bathroom was coming out of the wall, the face plate was broken, a chunk of granite is missing from the kitchen counter, the exhaust fan in the bathroom does not work, the kitchen ceiling lights do not work, the patio furniture was rusted out and one of the seats seperated from the frame. After several texts and calls to management, they sent a maintenance rep over on Saturday and he took care of what he could..... I fail to understand why VRBO would hurt its brand by listing units like this that they have knowledge of its poor condition. Do not rent this unit unless you want an ambiance of a colleg dorm and do not care how you spend your hard earned money. Oh and a note to the owner: using wrought iron furniture in marine environment results in rust.

I booked for the view. Upon entering you can tell the villa owners are for turn around and not for satisfied guest. I would rather sleep on a blow up mattress than the queen mattress provided. Won’t be recommending or staying here again.

The condo needs a good upgrade. The bikes, tennis courts, kayaks were not free as advertised. Only the tram passes worked. One of the elevators was acting weird or was out of service all the time. Good location.

Needs updating

Many of the electrical outlets didn’t work and 4 of the kitchen lights were out. Condo furniture very faded and dated. The kitchen cabinet facings around the pulls were very dirty and we had to clean and sanitize them. Shower door in bad need of replacement. Elevators were highjacked by construction and cleaning crews so we had to wait for up to 10 minutes to get up and down. Pool area very nice and clean.
