"Disappointing stay. Tried to book a reasonably budgeted vacation, but the “resort” felt like we paid minimum prices with the rooms to come here. Would have been glad to spend a little more to stay at the DoubleTree where we needed to stay an additional night due to flight delays. It felt like several stars’ difference instead of 1. Dayton felt like a motel stay. I read reviews and saw photos but felt really led astray in the end. Rooms were clean enough but just dingy walls, some used false eyelashes noted on the floor, dingy elevators. Room wasn’t cleaned the first day and I learned we needed to request a clean 24 hours in advance to get this. One of the pools was closed. The free breakfast that people highlighted was dismal. Found only pancakes, no fruit. Saw other families trying to make the most of it. Didn’t return to this breakfast. Staff was nice but it was just very disappointing."

"**Being this is a resort, breakfast should be included. I loved our room on the most upper floor looking at the ocean. It was a peaceful stay for the week. We were able to take naps midday with the balcony door open. Slept all night with the door open too. It was wonderful. The staff are great! I was concerned because when I’d call before my trip, no one would answer the phone. Brittany checked ya in and I had a request for an upper room with a walk in shower. Brittany came through! I appreciate the effort. It was cold when we came but saw many people using the pool and we watched the pool guy take care of it in the mornings. One elevator during check-in and check-out could get tricky but we learned when to come and go. All the staff were wonderful. We declined housekeeping because we had dogs and didn’t want them to bark if we happened to be there when the knock came. we made sure to collect all of our trash for them collectively in one bag and gathered the bedding and towels for them. We wanted to be no trouble for anyone. Our dogs were perfect and comfortable there. Plenty of other animals and all were well behaved. All hotels should allow our pets like this one does. Responsible owners bring well behaved pets. We don’t get down south often but we’ll be back there if we end up in Myrtle again. Thank you everyone!!! "

"This was a great hotel, a quick walk to the beach and all surrounding activities. Honestly probably would stay here over most of the hotels on the beachfront itself. Golf nearby, tons of food options. Staff was very friendly and accommodating from the front desk to the bar and cafe."

"Pool was cool, hot tub cool, lazy river cool! But room itself not up to par! They never delivered clean towels or cleaned our rooms! What makes matters worse "

"BEWARE !!!!! Pictures on hotel sites are not anything like the property looks. 1. Rooms are small 2. Beds are not comfortable 3. Microwave was not clean 4. Floor in bathroom and kitchen was so dirty. Do not walk around room without shoes. 5. Pool was dirty and very small 6. You heard every sound from every room, outside included. Walkway is very small and each room has chairs outside so if someone was sitting they had to get up for you to walk by. 7. Lots of construction in area. 8. Doesn’t seem all that safe of an area 9. There are signs everywhere that say no smoking! Only allowed downstairs at tables. Well no one follows this rule! Everywhere you walked smelled like an ashtray! We turned on bathroom vent and was overwhelmed by the smell. People standing by their rooms smoking. 10. It was seems to be a party place people drinking, dragging chairs, being loud at night. Smoking marijuana right on walkway in front of room. Not to mention the male cleaning staff was also smoking while they were cleaning rooms?? How can it be no smoking if cleaning staff is smoking in room. I will not stay again! Very disappointed! Beware! Don’t believe pictures you see or reviews posted they can’t all be legit after what I experienced. I also had other friends staying because we were in town for an event. You will see their review soon!!"
