“Great location but the rooms need upgrade.” I stayed at Rooms Negril in 2021 and had a great experience, but my September 2026 stay was very different. I booked in February and requested a balcony. With seven months’ notice, I expected that to be honored. At check‑in, I was told none were available and that one might open the next day, which would’ve meant unpacking and repacking just to move rooms. Later, I saw guests checking in after me receiving second‑floor balcony rooms, which felt inconsistent. The ground‑floor room had several issues: the door was jammed, the room was very small, and there was a bad odor when we walked in. The AC leaked down the dresser. The shower never got hot, the handle was broken, and the showerhead was rusted. Something very small was on the patio and staff had to clean it. The patio furniture was extremely old, and the bed hit the wall when you got in it. No washcloths were available for the last three days of my six‑day stay, so I had to wash up using a hand towel. The young housekeeping lady was very nice. Staff greeted you but didn’t smile. The fitness center was the only area that looked well‑kept. Breakfast was decent with pastries, fruit, coffee, tea, and juice, but flies were constantly around while eating. The location is great for walking to local spots. Overall, the property has potential, and I’ve had a great stay here before. I hope they invest in upgrades, because I would consider returning in the future.

So our stay at the hotel was good, probably even real good. The staff were nice but don’t expect many smiles. This is a 3 star hotel so you only get one restaurant/ bar which has enough to keep you going for a week. The food is good. If you want anything else, start walking on the beach to find other selection. There is no entertainment at the hotel but lots of it around. The beach and pool are very nice and well maintained . The hotel grounds are really nice well maintained like a small forest. The place does need love and some of it still has the markings of the hurricane. It does need love and they are working on it, they need more time. Not much activity or shopping but you can walk or take a cab for short distances and get more than is not on the beach. There are a lot of people trying to sell you things, but that is the way in Jamaica. If you are looking for a relaxing week, no young kids, its a great place as a 3 stars hotel. They have won awards in the past and they show it at the registration (very small place) but that was a long time ago. So, with all that, would I go back, yes I would. The place is very nice to relax, and resources yourself. Just consider all of the elements. The price is very good for the value and pay the extra to get one of the rooms with the view on the sea, really beautiful and you get the sunset view every night, wow. I hope this helps, we certainly liked it.

Clean room, pool and beach area well maintained. Lifeguard helped get us beach chairs brought down closer to the water the first day so we tipped him and every day after he made sure we had chairs and an umbrella set up for us out by the water. That was really nice to not have to worry about. The bartenders and severs are all very friendly! Made our stay better than we could imagine! We will be coming back soon!

Heb het erg naar mijn zin gehad. Leuke en spontane personeel. Nadeel is wifi op de kamers is er niet, daar mag echt aangewerkt worden. Kamers zijn schoon. Ik miste een kleine koelkast. Na gevraagd te hebben bij het personeel kregen wij een koffieapparaat.

The rooms are dated and poorly maintained. Let’s start with cleanliness, this was most disturbing, dead roach in bathroom, dead flies and mosquitoes in shower and on bathroom floor. White towels and wash rags all had yellow stains and frayed. - The toilet took 4-5 flushes to get even a piece of tissue to go down. You have to hold the handle down for an extended period to get any flushing action. It had hard water and chipped marks all over very off putting so we used tissue to layer the seat. -Beach towels were washed out and also had stains though they were coloured. Bed sheets and pillow cases all had stains even the window drapery had huge black stains. - The entry door needed a sweeper so bugs and lizard could not get in as you can see right under. We used a beach towel to block them out. - air conditioning unit was newer and works very efficiently to cool the room. - the only light in the stairwell went out form the first night and it was never replaced. We didn’t say anything because it kept the large lizards away. - we appreciate it was a cheaper option for us as we just needed a safe clean room to rest at nights with full days/evenings spent off site to attend the events we came in for. It’s a very old site but cleanliness and upkeep missed every mark in the unit. - the grounds were beautifully maintained. - The beach was also well maintained. - Security was on point and very helpful - the younger server at Breakfast was delightful, very friendly and efficient.

1) Had to be close to the reception area inorder to make use of their Wi-Fi. - no service in the rooms. 2) No, shampoo or conditioner, even the tiny bottles, only tiny soaps you can hardly use. 3) Bed sheets that do not match (bottom was white linen, top was orange! 😆) and not "fitted" 4) had to almost be a "mechanical engineer" to figure out where to dial the fixture to get hot water in the shower. 5) The BIGGY: The "main coarse" of the so called "continental breakfast" was cereals and coffee and you have to constantly fight hungry flies and cats. It has its pluses but that will be for another time.

Breakfast included clean property friendly staff central location to the things that bring me joy in negril but the harassment by the fruit sellers next door was terrible the guy put his lips on my woman and she had to push him off hard . Not ok if I return to this place I hope he won't be a problem for us again

We stayed for 2 nights, staff was great especially the wait staff, Kimesha Brown, she was excellent to the point that we overlooked that she was the only person waiting. Continental breakfast was good, would have loved it if we could have chosen fried egg instead of boiled egg. The view was superb and the pool was great and warm for a night swim. Overall this was a good property but the property really needs to be upgraded, most amenities were outdated, a prime example was the blow dryer, seemed like it was from the 90s and did not work.

I have stayed in 100s of places in Jamaica as I had been traveling there for over 20 years. We left on day 3 of 9 because it’s unsafe to stay here. The room we were in had a sliding glass door that came right off the tracks and literally almost fell on me. You could pop it right out. As a result we felt as if at any point anyone could enter the room Outside on our “patio” there was a massive leak from the pipes which led to a lot of mosquitoes. You had to pay for mini fridge 10 bucks a day if you want to keep anything cold in your room to drink or store leftovers. Beyond one waitress and the guy that works the beach the staff at the front desk were cold and not very friendly. The pool is great The location is great But the rooms are very worn down The TV had a crackling sound so watching anything was unenjoyable … during rain season this would be very disappointing. Understandably the WiFi is spotty due to the hurricane last year I couldn’t Even connect. The breakfast included is terrible so plan to spend 15 bucks per person on an actual breakfast. That being said the food was good. It just isn’t worth the price you are paying. The massages were amazing though so go get one of those even if you aren’t staying there.

Overall, my experience at the resort was excellent. The atmosphere, service, and overall ambiance made for a very enjoyable stay. However, there were a few inconveniences that affected the experience. The water pressure was quite low, and there was no hot water available throughout the entire weekend, which was disappointing. Additionally, the absence of a fridge and microwave in the room made things less convenient than expected. With improvements in these areas, the stay would have been near perfect.

The bar is unfortunately not staffed on a regular basis. One person doing too many things i stead of hiring a bartender and keep it open longer at night. Otherwise staff is always friendly (the Jamaican way) even when being super busy.

Very disappointed. No Wi-Fi was available in the room during the entire stay. We had to sit in the bar or use mobile data. The staff were extremely slow. At breakfast, it took 40 minutes to an hour for someone to come and take our order, another 40 minutes to serve the food, and another 30 minutes to process payment. The card machine did not always work. I paid in cash once and waited 20 minutes for the waitress to bring my change. I had to leave without receiving it because I had a boat waiting for me. In total, it took two hours in the restaurant. This was our third time staying at the hotel, as we liked the less crowded beach compared to other hotels, but it will be our last due to the very poor service throughout the entire stay.
