Staff was really friendly upon arrival and was given a complimentary bottle of wine(with a choice of red or white). The room was clean and stocked with delicious coffee and purified water (also complimentary). Everything in the hotel feels very state of the art. Will definitely recommend this hotel to friends that are looking to stay in Brooklyn.
I really liked this hotel and will return. Looks to be a recent renovation. Rooms are very pleasant, nicely decorated. Restaurant and bar in basement were excellent. Nice location, easily walkable. Less than a mile to the East River and Domino Park.
The restaurant was great, food was really good. I loved the vibe at this hotel and I was able to walk around the neighborhood and check out some local vendors like Brooklyn Cupcakes and some vintage women's clothing. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The amenities were nice, I loved how they offered free bottles of water, this gesture made all the difference. I would definitely stay here again! Loved the hotel.
Staff was extremely personable and helpful. They held our bags for us so that we could explore before our room was ready. Rooms were chic and modern and clean. Location was amazing with 3 different subway stops within walking distance. Close to local coffee shops, restaurants, and bars. Absolutely would stay here again!!
Stayed for 3 nights in spring 2026. Can confirm that the negative reviews here are probably very case-specific. The night staff was awesome, the room was clean, and the bed was one of the best I've slept on in a hotel. The Hewes St subway station is two blocks away and, yes, you can hear it, but in our room it only really sounded like a recurring blast of wind. The only real dings I have against 42 Hotel is that everything has become so expensive that I still had sticker shock at our final price, given its location and modest level of hotel amenities and sound insulation between rooms. My biggest compliments are to its comfy bed and the HVAC in the room: It is centrally vented, easy to use, and actually cools to the desired temp then shuts off. Pretty rare in any hotel these days. Thanks 42 Hotel!
The room was tidy and clean (except carpet). It was good space by NY standards and the bathroom was more than big enough and clean. Shame that the elevator was broken during our stay but the room on a lower floor was not really an issue. Front desk personnel very friendly and helpful.
The most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in at a hotel!
Noise levels can be a little high near the train, but it’s NYC, so some rattling is to be expected.
Very cool representative at the front desk and check in , the hotel was very nice and Clean
the room had a contemporary feel also the view from my room was really good.
