“We attended a birthday party. The hall was nice. We had an evening meal at the hotel, which was absolutely delicious. The room was quite disappointing, needing updating. The bedside lamps didn't work, but the staff were lovely”

“Room was ok . Dull dark decor and v small television. Table light worked but wonky and carpet threadbare in some areas . Clean . Check in was not very welcoming , lady seemed rushed and no pleasantries . Asked for more milk which didn’t get . Meal in the evening was good . Sticky toffee sauce was more like weak caramel. Decided not to stay the night so returned home so can’t comment on breakfast. Staff serving meal v good . ”

“Excellent hotel. Beautiful character room with good facilities and spotlessly clean. Very helpful and friendly staff, especially welcoming at check-in and although busy, they showed us to the room. Would definitely recommend, we will make it our go to hotel in North Yorkshire.”

“A classic hotel with comfortable, spacious rooms. Friendly and competent receptionists. Nice breakfast. Continent breakfast self-served buffet or hot, customised English breakfast That take quite a while. If come by train, need to get a taxi ride of 8-10 minutes. We arrived late in the evening. Have to queue for half an hour at the taxi stop.”

“We had a pleasant stay at The Briar Court Hotel. Location was good, close to the motorway and Huddersfield. Breakfast was good with some gluten free options. Staff were very helpful. We had a dog friendly room, but there was a large stain on the carpet.”

“We were really unhappy at first as the room we were given the toilet stank, I went to reception to complain about this and the only choice I was given was to pay for an upgrade.!! Although it was only £15 I don't think that this was fair, especially as it was uninhabitable The receptionist said that he would pass this on to his manager but I have not heard a thing We are going again, but are obviously very wary about it all We are going quite a few times to this hotel and the previous rooms……
