There are many things to see and do in the area around Nippombashi Station in Osaka City, including an electronics district, anime goods stores, and delicious food. Some recommended spots are listed below.
1. Dotonbori: Located within walking distance from Nihonbashi Station, Dotonbori is a famous sightseeing spot in Osaka. Dotonbori is lit up at night, creating a lively atmosphere. Gourmet food is abundant here, and you can taste typical Osaka foods such as takoyaki, okonomiyaki, and kushikatsu (skewered pork cutlets).
2. Shinsaibashisuji Shopping Street: One of Osaka's representative shopping streets, this area offers fashion items, cosmetics, and general merchandise. It is also home to many delicious gourmet restaurants and cafes.
3. Nihonbashi Takashimaya: This department store is directly connected to Nihonbashi Station and offers a wide variety of famous brands, traditional Japanese crafts, and food products. There is also a basement floor where you can purchase delicious souvenirs and foodstuffs.
4. Namba Underground Shopping Center: Easily accessible from Nihonbashi Station, the Namba underground shopping center offers shopping, dining, and amusement. It is also directly connected to subway and private railway stations, making it easy to get around.
5. DENDEN Town: Located within walking distance of Nippombashi Station, this shopping area offers a wide variety of anime and manga goods and game items. With an abundance of maniac items, this is the perfect place for anime fans.
A total of 12 railroad lines, including JR, Keihan Electric Railway, Kinki Nippon Railway, Hanshin Electric Railway, Nankai Electric Railway, and Osaka Metro, pass through the district, providing good transportation access.
