讚好：整潔度和地點
Our stay was in late June 2026 - quite possibly the hottest stretch of days Paris has seen for a very long time. The heat wave affected most of Europe and had detrimental impacts all over.Positives: Location is outstanding; proximity to the Metro and Bus, Gare St. Lazare, restaurants, shopping - we took advantage of all of these. Easily the best feature of Madeleine is its location. The kitchen had everything we needed and was well stocked with glassware, dishes, and silverware. Beds were comfortable - despite the conditions, everyone was able to sleep well. The washer/dryer was useful and once we figured out how to optimize it, it worked well (the key is small loads).It is what it is: I've discovered after the fact that air conditioning in France is not air conditioning in the US - we are used to units that operate 6-8 months out of the year and keep the house comfortably within a 72-78F range (22.2-25.5C). That is rare in Paris. The little units in this apartment did what they could to keep up, but only the 3 bedrooms where the units were located reached comfortable conditions. The common areas upstairs and downstairs and the bedroom downstairs remained uncomfortable even with the fans blasting and windows open.Issues that hopefully will be addressed: The spiral staircase is unsafe, but the only way to get upstairs. It needs a complete re-installation. The apt is a little cramped for 8 people. Also, we had expected to check in at noon, but it was not ready until 3pm.
