8/10 Good
"We stayed in a Family room (one room with a king bed and the 2nd room with two twin beds). Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. The bathroom was a bit small but fine if you can get ready one at a time. We absolutely loved the use of Te Reo across the hotel signage and the beautiful local artwork and significant history told in the artwork. We had a lovely experience with Sevyn at checkin who was incredibly helpful. The one disappointing experience was that prior to our stay I had messaged and requested a late checkout of midday so I could dial into an important meeting, the manager replied said no problem. Sevyn also confirmed this at checkin. Well 7mins past the regular 11am checkout time, and in the middle of my online meeting the phone started ringing with reception asking when we would be checking out - I had to explain I had requested a late checkout “oh yeah that’s in the notes” so back to my meeting only at 11:16 housekeeping banging repeatedly on the door to ask if we had checked out. Again had to stop my meeting to answer the door and these questions. So after a great stay it ended in a frustrating last hour and two rude encounters from staff who could have read “the notes” and not disturbed me. Upon checkout I mentioned this to the receptionist who admitted it was her who had dialled and that she had just not bothered to check the notes. So just a word of war in for anyone requesting a late checkout out."

"The staff is the star of this hotel. Before the check-in, the woman staff was able to reassure how to access the hotel after hours. It was simple and I got in easily for my 3 nights stay. When I check-out, the man staff was very helpful to store my luggage. When I came back to the hotel, it started to rain. I waited until I can walk to the bus station (intercity) but the rain kept going on. The same man asked me if I wanted to have a poncho. To clarify, this is not expected as a service at the hotel. He went above and beyond. I am so amazed by the attention of the staff. They make you feel good at their place. Other than that, the room is very spacious and clean for the duration. You can open your luggage with ease."
