“I've stayed at the Hotel Guanacaste for 15 years - the only times i have not is when they haven't had a room available- it's my preferred local. It's not a fancy place, but it suits my needs. It is very close to the bus stations and dining choices ”

“The host is amazing, and the hostel offers good value even though, on some evenings, there was a power outage and sometimes we didn’t have water at the property. Overall, it's great, and I will definitely come back when we travel here again.”

“Clean, reasonably comfortable bed. Close to the airport with free shuttle. Food in teataurant was good. Staff could have been a little more helpful with shuttle times but all worked out well”

“We just finished our fabulous stay. The room was spotless and we so appreciated the VIP welcome fruit platter! The grounds are clean, workers are friendly and very helpful, and the food was delicious. We enjoyed the hot springs and loved venturing to a couple of the Waterfalls. We did an all day adventure tour and had an amazing time tubing down the river, followed by ziplining through the canyon. Our only complaint was at dinner our first night we waited just under one hour to receive our……

“While Karao Hotel may offer budget nightly stays, it offers amazingly large rooms, close vicinity to the Liberia airport, public bus directory in front of Karao, and extraordinary professionally brewed coffee shop and breakfast meals. The (made on premises) breakfast items are inexpensive and high quality. Hope you will enjoy my recent photos of these delights, my companion and I stayed twice in December 2025. Perfect in every way.”

“All yes the only problem was WiFi the 1 to my room did not work had to leave my room to check e mails on other Wi-Fi that worked out side of room but will definitely stay again and plan to in near future stay was comfortable ”

“Very easy drive from airport. Excellent in having each bedroom have it's own bathroom. Getting the air conditioning just right (3 different rooms, a/c units, and remotes). Great communication from host.”
