「The hotel was old but had lots of character, (apparently Victor Hugo kept a mistress here, handy to his home next but one) Our room was kept clean and everything worked as it should. The breakfasts were hearty and tasty . The hotel's best feature was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The location was good as well; we used it as a base for walking completely around Guernsey. It was handy for the bus terminus to get around and handy to the harbour to visit Herm and Sark.」

「Beautiful property, well furnished rooms with friendly & helpful staff. While I would fully recommend the property, it was disappointing to turn up and find no availability at the spa despite staying three nights/four days. Also, the hotel added on a service charge of £10/day on checkout despite having already paid a 12.5% service charge in the restaurants & bars (which made up 100% of our bill given we had pre-paid). The option is there to take the service charge off but in my view, it is...

「Couldn't fault the hotel or staff. Whatever you asked for, it was no trouble at all. Our room was fine with a balcony that overlooked the harbour. Plenty to eat at breakfast. You can start with continental and then have a cooked meal if you want. The only drawback for us was the number of steps and sloping paths/ roads you need to negotiate to reach the hotel. That said, we would recommend this hotel.」

Carlene and her colleagues at reception were very helpful and attentive. We found everyone to be very helpful and attentive and everyone went all out to help make our stay enjoyable.」
