“When I first called the 1-800 number for Microtel, the person was not very helpful at all. I then booked a room thru Expedia for a much better rate. I did call the MicroTel I had reservations at to confirm my room. The person who answered was very helful and reassuring that I did have a room booked at the Expedia rate. Upon my arrival to the hotel, the staff was very helpful. The hotel was clean and efficient. The pool and exercise room looked clean. I don't know if this is everywhere but no……

“The rooms and common areas inside were clean. Outside by the pool the grass needed cut. Overall, very nice place.”

“The staff was accommodating even for late check-in & able to organize water cattle & barbeque on request. Overall we had the best sunset while staying in cottage 18.”

“Nice setting. Just be aware if you get one of the double bed rooms the sleeping area is very small. It’s an older motel, and the walls are thin. On the plus side, the property is well maintained and right on the lake. The fire pit is great. Other rooms may be bigger, and they offer glamping. Coffee and muffins in the morning are good. If you want a bigger breakfast you will have to go elsewhere.”

“Overpriced and under-whelming. The room was comfortable but very small given the nightly rate. Breakfast was only a selection of bagels with a choice of fillings (I had the salmon bagel which was good but, again, under-whelming given this is supposed to be a luxury hotel. We will not stay there again nor recommend it.”

“While the staff tried to help as best as they could, this hotel lacked basic requirements of a three star hotel. There was no soap or shampoo when we checked in, the key stopped working after one day even though we were staying for two days, the room had no microwave or a fridge, there was no breakfast and the restaurant/bar were out of service which was not noted anywhere during the booking process. We were disappointed that Expedia would allow this hotel to be on their list as a three star……

“Building needs some TLC and updates. While in the common area of the B&B at night we could hear lots of scratching in the walls and then we did see a mouse. The breakfast was just okay. Having stayed at several B&Bs this breakfast was probably on the bottom of my list. The office where we checked in smelled like cigarettes. I would probably not stay here again. Not the worst place I've ever stayed but definitely near the bottom.”

“Very convenient location. Easy walk to Watkins Glen State Park (a must see!) Brian (owner) was friendly, welcoming and engaging. Rooms were comfortable and breakfast (many locally sourced products) was delicious Would highly recommend!”

“Rating: 2.5–3 stars This property sits in an absolutely beautiful location with stunning views of the lake and the hills to the west. The sunsets are truly incredible, and the overall atmosphere is quiet and peaceful. The front yard has a lot of charm and potential, though the grass was noticeably overgrown during my stay. The experience itself was unusual. I was greeted briefly by someone who handed me the key, but after that I didn’t see a single staff member, and there’s no real reception……

“The room was very clean. The bed was made before we got back to our room. The bathroom was clean. Be careful in the parking lot, you may roll into the lake. Basically, it’s all in the name!”
