Lacking

For the price of this home, we were very disappointed in the lack of cleanliness. The door handles and surrounding areas were filthy. At night, there were huge cockroaches that we killed!! The best part was that it was close to the beach.

Great beach house for a bug family

The layout of the house was very nice with plenty of room for our family of 6. It was a very short walk to the beach and beach access was right outside the back door. The kitchen was well stocked. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only negative thing was that there was a house that was being built next to the pathway to the beach. We had a very negative interaction with one of the workers working on the house. I included this just as an FYI for other renters to be cautious. Luckily this didn’t happen until the last day.

Family reunion

We stayed in this house about 20 years ago and were very happy to see the timeless beautiful paintings still on the walls. The house is very comfortable and pet friendly with a great widow’s walk to see the gorgeous stars after 9p.All appliances and tvs worked well,. We hosted family twice for meals and could easily accommodate them. We really appreciated the communications via text.The walk to the beach was super fast.

Bad appliances!

Microwave Coffee pot and stove would barely work. We had a hard time cooking anything. And there’s no pantry to put your groceries. Not enough cabinet space. The headboard in guest bedroom was broken and unattached to bed.

Reservation cancelled

My reservation was cancelled just a week away from my check in day. I did get relocated but was given only 2 options for relocation. Vrbo or property manager should have a policy against owners wanting to use their home that has been already booked and paid for instead of putting clients through last minute changes with limited options. This low rating is for the original booking since it got cancelled and I couldn’t stay in that house that I had originally chosen.

Great location, nice house, some cleanliness issues

The location of this house is perfect. It’s even closer to the beach than it seems in the pictures. We loved the big screened porch, and the rooftop deck is incredible at sunset. There’s a nice new big TV in the living room. The cleanliness/pest issues began when we checked in and found what looked like mouse droppings on the kitchen counter, in the pots and pans, and in the kitchen cabinets. I contacted Vacasa support and they sent an exterminator, but they stopped responding to my messages after I asked to be refunded the cleaning fee. It’s $160 and I think that’s reasonable considering all the droppings we found. After further research it seems like maybe they are Palmetto Bug droppings and not from mice. Not sure if that’s better or worse? Besides that there was some dust and hair around, and some stained linens. Overall I would stay there again if it was cleaned better.

Perfect house

We have spent January and February in Southern Belle for several years! The house is always spotless and in perfect condition! Any minor issues we have had have been promptly dealt with! The house is just across from the beach for quick trips back and forth! The screened in porch is great for our morning coffee and is handy for lunch or dinner. Southern Belle Property

`Southern Belle` is an extremely nice beach house. Our group arrived around 4pm on a Thursday. The property was very clean and very convenient to the beach. We loved going up topside to the rooftop deck and spent a great deal of time on the enclosed porch. We were very impressed with this house and would recommend it to anyone and will definitely rent it again ourselves!
