"Great staff, great pool, ample parking, nice lobby and bar area. Rooms dated and are overdue some maintenance and a lick of paint."

"Very easy booking in and the staff were very helpful. The meals I had were well cooked and hot. The Showering facilities were good with plenty of hot water. They also supplied 2 fans which made it very easy to sleep in this heat. The next time I’m at THRUXTON for the racing I will try to book this venue first."

"The rooms were neat and tidy and spacious. Even though parking is limited the shepherd street parking is just a minute walk from the hotel. The breakfast was extremely busy so would recommend getting in there early."

"Had a wonderful stay at The Retreat. Really relaxed atmosphere, gorgeous facilities and comfortable room. Only slight criticism was enough sun loungers by the outdoor pool, could definitely fit some more in so that people don’t have to sit on the grass. There was no one out there to ask for help, and it felt like there was no one really in charge. Same with the restaurant, it felt understaffed and so service was a bit lacking at times. But the staff who did serve us were very friendly. Complimentary wine on arrival and snacks from the pantry are a really lovely touch. We can’t wait to come back!"

"Lovely hotel and rooms comfortable and clean. Excellent food, had breakfast there. Beautiful location and setting, surrounded by peace and quiet. Only wish there had been air conditioning as it was so warm at night. Air con would have been the icing on the cake. Highly recommend!!"

"The room was lovely and spacious, bed was comfy. The bathroom was pristine. The lift was broken, no jacuzzi and the breakfast was mediocre."

"We stayed in the inn itself, where the room’s decor is a little mad but we enjoyed it. The room was a little tired (chipped paint, absent towel rail) but everything functioned. Good pub grub and a “fun bus” outside to keep the kids entertained (a whole evening of fun for them), and great location for Stonehenge."
