"Comfortable room, friendly staff and good level of amenities. For the price, however, I would expect a bit more. Breakfast was good, but not out of the ordinary. Restaurant was unexpectedly closed during my stay. Room and bathroom on the small side."

"The hotel itself is very underwhelming and completely unaccommodating. Clean but bare bones. No AC. Few amenities. Very dated room. One electrical outlet and a simple tub bathroom. Wifi is not offered in rooms. Paper thin walls. Bed was quite worn and clearly in need of a refresh. Nice view of the bay from a very small window. The restaurant- our first night here they were out of almost every item we ordered. Drinks were very limited. Out of stout. No passionfruit for the martini they featured on their menu. No whisky as advertised for their old fashioned. No fish for one of the mains. We settled for fried Haddock and chips and the fry came burned. The next day we asked to order a starter of mussels to snack on and we were told it was not possible without a reservation (and they were completely booked). Also worth a mention but no fault of the hotel- the main road to and from Portree from Uig was completely closed for construction after 7pm. We could not visit the town for evening pubs or dinner options. Again not the fault of the hotel but super inconvenient given the supply shortage at the hotel bar. If the hotel was inexpensive, i'd be more forgiving but it was quite pricey for the inadequate value offered."

"Please do not hesitate to book this property, you will not be disappointed. We have stayed in so many holiday homes over the years and this is the cleanest property we have ever stayed in. Immaculate doesn't do it justice. Worried about the remote location? Don't be! Dunvegan itself has a general store for essentials as well as places to eat and drink. The Coop in Portree is just a gorgeous 25min ish drive away. Great location for exploring the whole island but especially the east side. Wildlife is abundant. A male Hen Harrier flew straight by the bedroom window. I can't leave this review without mentioning the Otter. What a tremendous privilege to have him/her performing mid morning for my family. Straight across the road, 2 minute walk to the edge of loch Dunvegan I had one of the best experiences of my life. I have looked all over Scotland and was so happy to enjoy 2 hrs with this awesome creature. Our wee doggie Rocco was extremely welcomed and the grounds are enclosed. The kids loved having upstairs while my wife and I had privacy downstairs. My wife suffers with reduced mobility so everything on the ground level was great as the listing suggests. One of the owners, Mette, was very helpful and great with communication before, during and after our holiday. The home had everything you would need, there was nothing that we needed that wasn't there or thought of. A holiday we will always remember. Home was exactly as described, better in fact.
