Lovely, except for the insufferable noise from the beach club next door during the day. The rooms were spacious and clean. The air conditioning was great. There were these really cool, large swings on our balcony. Ample drinking water was provided in the room. The staff was very sweet and kind. It is unclear to me how anybody could relax and enjoy the room or swing or the sound of the waves with stadium-level bass booming from 11 AM till 7 PM. People did not appear to be partying or dancing during these hours, in fact, that was hardly anyone around. The hotel is a very close to some of the finest restaurants in Tulum, which is why I selected this part of the beach strip. With the exception of weekend nights, the music that was played in the hotel, and in the hotel bar and restaurant was absolutely charming, but you could barely hear it because of the booming from next-door.

Everyone was incredibly kind, helpful, and genuinely made my whole stay so incredible. The hotel was beautiful, the jungle vibe didn't feel cheesy and the plants were beautifully maintained. The hotel really was gorgeous, the beach was beautiful, but the people make this hotel great. Couldn't recommend this place enough.

We had an excellent stay at Kanan Tulum. The hotel offers a truly unique, adults-only experience with beautiful jungle-inspired design throughout the property. The aesthetic is stunning — sand floors, lush greenery, hanging trees, mirrors, and thoughtfully designed photo moments. You genuinely feel immersed in nature while still enjoying a luxury atmosphere. The staff was friendly, professional, and attentive. Housekeeping kept our room clean and well-stocked daily. The private beach area was a highlight — relaxing cabanas and lounge beds with a peaceful vibe. The room layout is very open-concept, which adds to the overall design experience, but privacy is limited (the toilet area does not have a traditional door). There is also no TV, which we personally enjoyed because it allowed us to disconnect and fully relax. It’s important to note that this is not an all-inclusive property. All food, drinks, and bottled water are purchased separately. Dining on the strip can become expensive if you eat out daily. However, the location is great — the hotel sits on a lively stretch with restaurants, boutiques, coffee shops, and stores all within walking distance, so there is plenty to do nearby without needing a taxi. Overall, this hotel is ideal for couples looking for a romantic, design-focused, adults-only getaway. It was perfect for what we were looking for.

Room was wonderful and very clean . Made you feel like you’re in a tree house. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Many restaurants to choose from . In the heart of the hotel zone it was a lot of fun.

I recently stayed at the Kanan Tulum Hotel for 8 days. The property and rooms are very nice and gave a very unique experience. Joel at the front desk was the best from the first day greeting us to our last day checking out! I received 3 spa treatments, a master massage, the rejuvenating anti-aging facial and the cocoa wrap. They were all nice, but by far my favorite was the master massage with Laura. I cannot recommend it and Laura enough. Her energy is very calming and therapeutic and adds to the services she provides! We had dinner 1 evening up in a nest overlooking the ocean and that was a fantastic experience and dinner with Ricardo as our server! Totally recommend this as well!! Now the reason for only 4 stars. The service in the restaurant for breakfast by the beach as well as service on the beach was hit or miss. Many times I had to go up to the bar to order my own drinks or food. 1 day we were offered an umbrella from the sun, another day I asked for an umbrella and was told no, although when I brought up the fact I was provided 1 the day before they did bring and set up 1. We were upgraded to a partial ocean view room which was lovely! However the entire experience in the room and out in the beach was a little tainted by the competing clubs on both sides of the Kanan, along with the Kanan playing techno music all day every day. The music continued to 1am -2am every night, although I do believe this came from a neighbor club and not the Kanan itself.

Our room was fantastic and the beach was beautiful – these were the two best parts of our stay. The service at the hotel, the attitude of the staff, the food was all extremely disappointing. We came to celebrate my husband’s birthday and I had been in touch with concierge services for a month and a half with several small requests such as decorating the room, cake and music at our welcoming dinner, et cetera and they did nothing. For the first night I let it go thinking maybe it was a lack of communication but that seemed to be the theme of our entire stay-anything we asked for, anything I had pre-booked was just forgotten about and the worst part was the attitude of the staff when we tried to follow up or ask for anything- it honestly seemed like we were a constant bother to them . We asked for an airport shuttle and they quoted the price at US$170 saying that taxis would cost more, we got a taxi for $100 on the Street outside the hotel. We asked for their help in making reservations and they just forgot in both instances. We asked for ice to be sent up to our room and staff lied and said they had been waiting outside of our room and we told them to come back in 10 minutes. The food at the beach bar and the karma restaurant were also terrible, but but we learned our lesson after two terrible meals in good news is there are plenty of great places to eat nearby. Overall would come to Tulum again but would definitely not stay at this hotel.

Everything was very expensive! Creaky bed, leaky refrigerator in the room! I was still okay with everything above until the day we checked out. They told us to wait that they need to check the room before we left there! After while they said they’ll charge us $65 and I asked why. They said there is blood stain on the sheets. I couldn’t believe and asked if I go back to see it. Of course there wasn’t any blood stains
