「I stayed here the night before the Lakeland100 race. Apart from being on the top floor (great view-not great pre race!), it was lovely, quiet and the staff so friendly! They made everything easy, the WiFi was good, dinner was lovely as was breakfast! Thanks for a great stay, would recommend!」

「Staff were friendly and helpful from checking in to food services. Room was a bit dated but it was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with choices on a pre ordered menu which meant service was perfect. Views of mountains from some rooms and also from outside sitting area. Options to dine in the evening available with a good choice of food and highly recommend the steak pie. Lovely quiet location and perfect for visiting places」

「Very quiet, cozy & comfortable Inn. Although located in a remote area of Lake District, easy to find & can reach other spots easily. Must try the dinner at the restaurant which is very good with reasonable price. Only the towel rack in my room is not working which is a minor stuff. Furthermore everything in the breakfast seems overcooked.」

「The reason I haven’t scored 5 is that Expedia sold us a room that had issues with noise / cooking smells as it’s above the kitchen and is noisey and smelly when the staff are cooking. We stayed in a room named Helvellyn and Expedia didn’t state any issues with any rooms. If we had booked direct with the queens head it details the room helvellyn as having issues with noise etc due to it’s proximity to the kitchen. I think Expedia have been misleading not detailing the facts about that particular...

「It has 4 Start rating but unclear why it’s that high. Checking in, staff member didn’t seem particularly interested. Had to prompt guidance on how to get to my room. Dinner was fine. Nothing spectacular. Breakfast was fine. Rooms are dated, bed was way too soft. Probably old. All just pretty average and not 4 star.」
