“Obvious that operators were not keeping the property up to scratch”

“The room was excellent, well equipped, very comfortable with a first rate view from the balcony. The pool and Gym facilities were excellent, easy to use with fantastic staff. The only let down was the bar/restaurant area. The levels of noise from the assorted screens, the shouting and screaming was ridiculous. Ordering food was difficult as the app system was glitchy and talking to staff near impossible due to the noise levels. The menu sounds great, the reality somewhat different. The……

“Lovely place in a stunning setting, would have without a doubt been 5 stars across the board until we went for breakfast. Food was very nice, but we were sat at a table that wasn’t the best situated and felt a bit close to others when better tables were available and offered to other guests but not us. Table hadn’t been cleaned properly and there were marks on the glass. Getting the attention of staff was an issue and I didn’t want to bring this up in front of other paying guests. We then sat……

“Good location. Difficult to get to our room as the place is a bit of a maze to arrive to our room, with steep, narrow stairways. Fairly small room also. ”

“Spacious comfortable clean bedroom & en-suite bathroom. Very helpful landlady, accommodating us arriving early and giving us early access to our room. Delicious breakfast - berries, yogurt, muesli and cooked breakfast of your choice. Cooked fresh and just the way we like it. Only downside is that you need to park in the nearby car park (not cheap & designed to catch you out) or on the street.”

With this comes issues with either a very steep staircase up to the rooms or use of an emergency exit at the rear (which is made of metal steps with a precarious old mat dangerously situated at the top). The room was lovely but it was very hot as situated above the kitchen. The weather was forecasted to be 28/29 degrees and I had to ask for a fan.
