「Six of us stayed at the property. The location was perfect. 5 minutes walk to the shambles. Lots of York on the doorstep. Carpark was great. The apartment itself had everything we needed and was to a good standard. Would definitely recommend to anyone not wanting to use a car.」

「Friendly staff, easy to check in, spacey room for a solo traveller. The room was not super clean but clean and tidy enough, nothing to worry about. The location was good—walkable distance to the shambles and the bus stop to Whitby and Scarborough.」

「The apartment was excellent, well appointed and in a good convenient central location. What let it down was the parking. This was 20mins walk away, but this was not made clear until after we had booked. Also the check in procedure for the parking was difficult. It took us an hour to get this done. To be fair once we gave up trying and rang the owner he sorted it out immediately.」

「Location was fine. Accused me of stealing key and didn’t want to change booking despite requesting before deadline.」

「Outstanding location for visiting York. The tea, bread, milk and jam was a nice touch and appreciated. Off street parking was great. VRBO communications with the host were good. Virtually the only thing missing was a towel to dry dishes.」

「The apartment was very cute and lots of fun extras, like the keyboard (our son is raking piano lessons, so he was excited to practice). Perfectly located for restaurants and shopping marts. Only drawback was, you better be an early riser and late nighter because the alley is quite loud. Would still stay again, despite the noise.」

「Great location close to walking area, market, tourist sights, shopping, buses. Short walk from train. Not easy to find but video from host helped for navigating getting into apartment. Some stairs even after lift to 2nd floor but only about 12.Apartment itself was in beat up condition. Beds comfortable. Bathrooms good. Clean. Host communicated well and fast. Few utensils in kitchen and what was there was very worn. Latch on one window broken so could not secure, heater not secure, looking like...

「Lovely property, friendly owner, easy access to city by bus」

「Despite the steep stairs up to the 2nd floor, this was a lovely little gem. Perfectly located in shambles area. Close to attractions and dining options.」

「The property was fun--it was like sleeping on a ship. Each part of the floor tilts a different direction because the building is ancient. An enjoyable experience. Location was great, within the city walls and easy walk to the minster. There is a karaoke bar across the street so we listened to the joyous, if not always tuneful, singing at night.」

「Pro - Excellent location, very close to most visitor attractions. Basic, Clean and Tidy Cons -No lift , so 4 flights up. Tough with luggage. Booked for 2 Adults and a 9 Yr old, only 2 glass tumblers and no towels or bedding placed out for the 3rd person. Damp smell in bathroom. Dirty , greasy frying pan in pan cupboard. Bed mattress very uncomfortable 😕 Noise from neighboring pub and restaurants, so no sleep until they close! 01.30am Friday night Midnight on Thursday.」

「The place was good and the on site staff were helpful but the overall experience from Hotels.com was terrible and made the whole trip unpleasant. The accommodation don’t answer the phone and Hotel.com have appalling customer service and just don’t care what happens after they take your money, they openly admit that they have NO complaints procedure and that they do not abide by Data Protection law. 」

「overall it was nice. getting there was a little confusing for people who aren’t familiar with the area. the shampoo conditioner and body wash were all completely empty, and the fan didn’t rotate without making a terrible noise. also, as a security thing? the previous people’s netflix account hadn’t been swiped clean on the tv. but it was clean and comfortable. it’s all one room - so more of a small studio than what we would call an apartment.」

「Location is very good with everything needed just nearby. The room is clean and comfortable and we didn't use the kitchen so much just for occasional use the oven.」

「Lovely place, comfortable beds, good local recommendations and wonderful views of the river and Clifford tower! All as advertised.」
