“We did not enjoy our stay at the Black Isle. The price we were charged for what we got was wild. Way overpriced for a private bunk bed room in a hostel. The room was very hot, the only way to cool it down was to open the windows, but it was very loud outside until midnight when the Secret Garden closed down. There was black mould in the bathrooms and very few amenities in the room. The mattresses were thin and felt like the springs were digging into our backs. I will note that the bar staff……

“The unit is on the bottom floor looking into the car park. While the windows do provide a bright area, there’s minimal privacy when blinds are open. The entry smelled of cigarette smoke and was dank/damp feeling. Older building but well kept. The check in instructions were unclear. Would’ve been much easier to send information and instructions via the app (Expedia) rather than sending a link with the house manual, which didn’t work multiple times. What door to access, and where to park were……

“The apartment was fine and served its purpose, but it is very basic and has some minor issues — dripping faucets, leaking shower and damaged bathroom floor. We were fine with all this — not expecting a five star hotel, but the pictures are quite deceiving. This building has multiple units and most of the photos are from upstairs which appears much nicer. For instance, I was surprised to find we only had a full size bed. The ad just isn’t clear and it’s partially my error for not paying closer……
