“Location is about 20–25 minutes from downtown. The space is cozy and suitable for a family of four, and the balcony is very nice. However, there was an ongoing odor in the room, and the bathroom had a strong smell, which affected our overall comfort. ”

“I was very disappointed with this hotel. I had a 3 year old and an 8 month old travelling with us and required additional items due to it being super cold and raining. The manager is non responsive after numerous follow ups including bot emails and phone calls. Book somewhere else! Feeding the ducks and fish is a nightmare, there are no steps down, it’s super slippery, the ducks snip at your feet as they know your coming to feed them and won’t leave you alone. I ended up taking a huge fall due……

Coffee and water was always available in dining area and breakfast each morning was lovely - orange juice, fruit, toast and jam with a selection of 4 different breakfasts. “I stayed two nights in a private room, the ladies on reception were so friendly and helpful with helping book my activities, they’ve really created a welcoming and chilled vibe. The kitchen and outdoor area is lovely. There’s everything you need both in the property and nearby. It was very chilly at night but was provided with extra blankets, the strong wind was a little noisy with plants hitting my window but I didn’t mind and always take earplugs in case of outside noise. It was super clean.……

“Staff was great and very helpful. Place was specific and beautiful. The only reason to hold back on the 5 star rating is the Ants. Due to rain forest the place have some (harmless) ant visitors inside the property otherwise amazing place.”

“Cabanas la Pradera was a wonderful experience. The cabins are set out over 14 acres I believe. Within the property there are easy walking trails. The birding within the property is excellent but the cabanas are close to Curri Cancha, Monteverde and so many other locations good for birding, butterflies and restaurants! The cabins themselves are basic but very comfortable. Melissa and her family make you feel very welcome and are so helpful. I would love to go back. ”

“The location is great, very close to the center of Monteverde. However, noise from traffic can be really loud as you are directly by the street. The staff say they will help you book activities around, but the two people who spoke English were both out the day we could have used their help, and one other guest was way overcharged for a taxi ride to an activity that they booked. The rooms are small, with no wardrobe, drawers, or hooks to put your clothes anywhere. No hooks in the bathroom……
