"Property was very clean, and staff were very friendly. We had a great view of the ocean from our room. We did have an intruder (Racoon) enter our room through the balcony door and open the bar fridge and stole a bag of peanuts. We learned that we needed to keep our balcony door locked and not just closed! However, we will definitely go back! Food and drinks are a little pricey!"

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Absolute Hidden Gem – Even Better Than the Photos! This was one of the best Airbnb stays we’ve ever had! From the moment we arrived, we knew we had found something truly special. The property is absolutely stunning, and the photos don’t even come close to capturing how beautiful it is in real life. The home is perfect for couples, small families, or larger families looking for a private, peaceful retreat surrounded by nature while still being just a 3-minute walk from the beach and great restaurants. It truly offers the best of both worlds. The hosts were exceptional in every way. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, accommodated every request with genuine kindness, and made sure every detail of our stay was perfect. Their hospitality was simply outstanding. Every morning we looked forward to the delicious, fresh breakfast, and we spent many relaxing hours enjoying the gorgeous pool. One of the highlights of our trip was that our kids took surfing lessons with the owner—they absolutely loved the experience and are already talking about coming back! We traveled with our 17-, 20-, and 24-year-old children, and every single one of us had an amazing time. It’s rare to find a place that everyone in the family enjoys, but this property exceeded all of our expectations. If you’re looking for a beautiful private home with every amenity, incredible hosts, easy access to the beach, and an unforgettable experience, look no further. We can’t recommend this p"

"Property was beautiful and spacious as advertised. The living room was comfortable and the kitchen was fully equipped. The beds were comfortable and the black out shades were a plus. The owner was very responsive and helpful. The overall area of hacienda pinilla was nicely maintained and some of the best roads we found in Costa Rica. No real markets or restaurants too close, but there are options within a short drive. The JW Marriott also has 4 nice restaurants which appeared to be a little pricey until we ate in Tamarindo, which was also pricey, but not any different than a large US city. Also found out that the JW Marriott restaurants gave 10% off if you mention you were staying in Hacienda Pinilla. Golf course was in a beautiful area, but due to the dry season, the fairways and greens were in poor shape, but they did offer a reduced price. Drive from Liberia was an experience and it seems that Google does not route you through Hacienda Pinilla as it is a gateed community, which makes the drive longer and over a lot of dirt roads. Once we pinned the gate house, we could get in and out of the area much quicker. Overall, I highly recommend this property."

"This was one of the most unique and memorable places we’ve ever stayed.The treehouse feels completely immersed in nature while still being comfortable and thoughtfully designed. Waking up to the sounds of the jungle, soft natural light coming through the windows, and seeing monkeys and parrots right outside was an experience we’ll never forget.The location was incredible — an easy walk to Playa Avellanas beach, restaurants, and local shops, but the property itself felt peaceful, private, and hidden away from everything.We loved the handcrafted details throughout the home. The carved artwork, tropical woodwork, and overall design made the space feel artistic, warm, and authentic to Costa Rica. It truly felt like staying somewhere special instead of a typical vacation rental.The beds were very comfortable, the AC worked great in the bedrooms, and the WiFi was strong enough for remote work and streaming without any issues.One of our favorite parts of the stay was relaxing in the hammocks after long beach walks and sunsets. The entire property has a calm energy that makes it easy to slow down and fully enjoy the experience.Ben was an outstanding host — extremely helpful, responsive, and knowledgeable about the area. He gave us great recommendations and made everything feel easy and welcoming from start to finish.If you’re looking for a peaceful, walkable, nature-filled stay in Playa Avellanas, this place is truly special. "We absolutely loved our stay here and did not want to leave. The property feels like a private tropical retreat right in the heart of Playa Avellanas. Everything was exactly as described, if not better.The location was perfect — an easy walk to the beach, restaurants, and local shops, yet the property itself felt peaceful, quiet, and secluded behind the gated entrance. We especially loved walking through the mangrove boardwalk to the beach every morning and watching the sunsets in the evenings.The home was incredibly comfortable and spacious. The California king beds were amazing, the AC worked perfectly, and the 1500 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets honestly felt like something from a luxury hotel. The house was spotless and thoughtfully designed with beautiful local art and antiques throughout.One thing that surprised us was how relaxing the property felt. We spent hours in the hammocks listening to the sounds of nature, and we saw monkeys and parrots right on the property during our stay.The WiFi was strong enough for remote work and streaming, and the kitchen had everything we needed.
