“This was an excellent place to stay, with historic ironworks in front, whitewater in behind, and a real steam-engine train passing by that looked like something out of a story book. There are two flights of 17 steps each, for a total of 34 steps to get to the flat, and then 14 more inside the cottage to get to the bedroom. The unit was immaculate when we arrived, and well-stocked with essentials, except we could not find bedding for the pull-out bed in the main living area. The grounds were……

“Property appears to have been recently made over, everything is new and fresh, extremely clean and although on the small side the rooms are perfect for overnight stays, comfortable bed and with more than enough tea/coffee supplies unlike a lot of places. The continental breakfast was excellent quality and plentiful. We could not fault the staff who were extremely friendly and helpful. Overall excellent value for money and we will definitely go back”

“The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Evening meal and breakfast were very good. The bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom could do with some updating. Several significant cracks in the walls and evidence of water leaks around the heated towel rail and over bath shower head was leaking water out when running the bath taps. We only had one night so not really an issue for us.”
