"Beautiful place to stay ,ideal location "

"The house is large and plenty of space for our group of 8. Lots of fun decor and things for the kids to explore and play with. The area is lovely, with lots to do and see. The walk back from the town centre will certainly get your heart racing (very steep) The bedrooms are large but the double beds are small and awfully creaky and springy. An upgrade to king size with decent matresses would make a big difference. The property is old, so there are lots of creaks and uneven floors, which adds...

"Property was in an ideal location for us. Parking wasn’t ever an issue for us as long as you accept there may be a small walk involved. Cottage was lovely but could maybe do with a deeper clean and some TLC in places….bathroom door, downstairs toilet seat for example."

"What a find! Beautiful large Victorian home, with all mod cons. Totally central. Free parking, and everywhere was walkable. Pub with roaring fires 80feet away. We even took the 599 bus to Keswick for the day, only 3 and the bus stop a 2 min walk from house. Everything you could need for cooking for our large group what there, and a super large dining room. Very comfy beds, spacious rooms, and fab bathrooms. We will definitely be back. Thank you."

"Amazing weekend.Bit awkward to find as we came in from kendal way ..Sat nav tookus throughmiles of one car wide road but its a paradise corner with stream and garden areas.. Some cottages residential but very friendly especially John..Also has smart TV and excellent wifi ..4 of us on anniversary weekend.Fully recommended.."

We did lots of hill walking during the day and enjoyed lovely strolls down to the Lakeside in the evenings - 5 mins walk! Previous occupants have said noise was an issue but it wasn't for us and we enjoyed some lovely sunshine so we had the windows open most of the time! "A beautiful old cottage in a stunning location, with a comfortable garden out the back (mind the low doorway). My second stay here, just as good. Extremely well equipped, very comfortable beds etc. Had a little difficulty with reliable hot water until we sussed out the magic Boost button, and the bird feeders could do with being replaced, but these are nitpicks. Most important, I rate cottages by: do they come with a tea strainer, and Scot Beck does."
