A well equipped cottage based at an excellent location for exploring the Northumberland coastline and surrounding area. Whilst only 50yards from the A1, it was exceedingly quiet, with places to pop out for walks with the dog, as well as easy access to local beaches and towns.
The swimming pool was rarely used by others, meaning it felt like a private pool and the tennis court was well kept. As we were staying a fortnight the cleaners popped in offering to change bedding and towels after the first week which was a nice touch. The kitchen was well equipped, meaning it was easy to cook for five people should you wish too, but also pubs and takeaways in nearby towns if you don't.
There's lots to do for kids on the area on wet days, as well as the stunning beaches when the sun shines. We took our dog and found everywhere very welcoming, inc. pubs, cafes and many of the local tourist attractions.
Couple of downsides to the accomodation; firstly it wasn't as large as the photos made it appear. The kitchen and sitting room are in one area, with a step between the two, which was disappointing. The gym is tiny, poorly lit/ventilated and equipment is old / damaged, so don't go if it's the gym you want to use. Finally it would be a squash if your planning to put a cot in the single room, you'd have to move furniture round it you actually want to step into the room! FIA y it was only when we arrived we were told we could t leave the dog alone in the accomodation and that he couldn't go upstairs, which isn't a problem, but a Stargate was have been a useful addition as with it all being new to the dog, he wanted to follow us upstairs everyone we went. However the call from the owner the day before was a lovely touch and the onsite caretaker was friendly. Overall a lovely, well located cottage, in a great location, though slightly overpriced for the size of it.
