Great stay at Thon Hotel Rosenkrantz Bergen. Spacious family room and an excellent breakfast buffet with gluten-free options. Only minor issue was that hot items like eggs and sausages were often cold. Fantastic central location with a local feel, about a 10–15 minute walk to the train station and light rail to the airport. Small gym available as well.

The location is absolutely perfect - in the very centre of all the action. Room was clean and functional. Breakfast was amazing. Staff could have been a little more helpful at reception. They seemed disinterested. On arrival the lifts were not working so we had to go through the back and use the staff lift. Then our TV streaming wasn’t connecting. As a solution we were made to pack up and come down to reception to be re-roomed, only to find out the same problem was present in the next room. This was resolved by the next day. Overall the location wins - so I would recommend.

I’m not sure how this compares to other Norwegian hotels but the room was small and the bathroom was beyond tiny. You were partially in the shower using the toilet in a standard room. I’d recommend going up to the next room level up for this property. The front desk staff however was excellent and provided recommendations around town. The property is also close to shopping in historic Bryggen.

Room was small to get around in, and looked bigger in the pictures; it was a little awkward but was comfortable enough. Tub also had a very high lip to get into, but worked fine. Close to attractions and in a nice location overall.

Everything at the hotel was to a very high standard. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was of a good variety and there was plenty of choice. The location was absolutely perfect. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of choice for health conscious people. A wide variety of pickled foods for gut biome preferences - not me! The king bed was super comfortable with individual single duvets. Bathroom had underfloor heating, which was much appreciated. There was a sign at eye level stating the bath was slippery - my husband agreed as he was getting out after showering. The shower was over the bath. Water pressure for the shower was not too good, though. Beware the step into the bathroom. We stayed in a business room which had a good amount of space. No drawers, only a hanging rail. We asked to have a later check out which they were able to give us as the room was not allocated to new guests. So helpful and we really appreciated it.

Breakfast was excellent. Room was too crowded with furniture for a room of that size. It didn’t need the desk. And the wardrobe was hopeless for accommodating much stuff. A second rack for a second bag would be better or a wardrobe where you can accommodate a suitcase. There was an unsightly dent in the bathroom door that needs fixing. Otherwise the bed was comfortable.
