Villa with private pool, large garden and stunning sea view

  • The villa and property has 180 degrees sea view. The 100 year old stone house was rebuilt and modernized in 2007, while retaining its simplicity and modesty. Upstairs the house has a joint living room/dining room/kitchen, a bathroom and a large bedroom, and downstairs two bedrooms. All rooms have sea view and lead out to terraces. There is a stereo, dvd player, several films and a monitor but there is no wifi. There are also many books, in many languages, also for children. Linen and towels provided. The pool is 3 by 6 meters, not heated. There are several terraces for dining and sunbathing: a roofed one outside the kitchen, one old and one new outside upper bedroom, one under grapevine outside lower bedrooms, and one around the pool. The surroundings consist of farming terraces and flower gardens. The road is reached by private stairs (60 steps). Parking on road about 100 metres away from top of stairs. The inside of the house is rustic and functional, while the outside is spacious and private with many semi-tropical plants.

Es ist ein traumhaft schönes Domizil am ruhigen Ende der Insel!Waren im Vorfeld über einige Negativen Bewertungen zuerst irritiert. Jetzt muss ich sagen, wer sich an so Kleinigkeiten wie den z. T. etwas in die Jahre gekommenen Zustand stört, hat keinen Sinn für den Charm des Ortes. Eine traumhafte Lage!!!! Wir haben direkt vom Haus aus viele schöne Wanderwege entdeckt Beim nach Hause kommen köstlich gekocht und auf der terasse dann beim Sonnenuntergang den Tag ausklingen lassen!Ein wunderschöner Urlaub!Danke an Jan Martina

Manches ist schön etwas in die Jahre gekommen (Liegestuhl, Fensterläden), aber alles sehr sauber. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Sowohl draußen als auch drinnen standen Blumen bei unserer Ankunft.Ein fantastischer Ausblick und Ruhe.Zum Haus gehören wohl 2 Katzen, das hat unsere Tochter besonders gefreut.

Couples getaway trip

We had a fantastic stay with Maria. The rustic property was in a cute, quiet, and private location with an amazing view of the ocean. Easy parking was available below the church, which was a 5-minute walk away from the property. The garden and view were highlights of the property that we will always remember. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the place to anyone wanting to visit Madeira.

Idyllic views at the end of the world

If you are looking for a secluded breathtaking location with a cozy, rustic but functional lodging - this house is for you. Sure there are some insects, and the house is not brand new but it all adds to the charm. And I promise you - you won't find any better view for your swims, dinners and birdwatching. The host was super helpful!

Es ist ein sehr idyllisches kleines Häuschen mit einer atemberaubenden Aussicht. Leider aber doch schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen aber es ist alles da was man braucht bis auf eine Heizung und ausreichend heißes Wasser. Das Café dass erwähnt wird , auch zum Einchecken ist nicht vorhanden!!!!!! Ist zur Zeit eine riesen Baustelle, könnte man bitte in der Beschreibung aktualisieren. Wir hätten aber alle 4 Personen einen schönen Aufenthalt. Danke auch an Jose für den schönen Blumenstrauß der bei unserer Ankunft am Tisch stand. Föhn, Geschirrspüler, Gasherd ,Backrohr, Waschmaschine, Filterkaffeemaschine, Wasserkocher, alles vorhanden, Toaster funktionierte leider nicht. Es wäre bitte auch nett wenn man erwähnen würde das es in diesem Haus keine Heizung gibt, wir hatten die ganze Woche Regenwetter und teilweise um die 7 Grad ist nicht dein ohne Heizung.

We had a great week here. The location is superb, with amazing views from a private terrace. The pool is clean and we used it every day. The house is well-equipped, and large, though could do with a refresh/refurbishment. Yes, the weather means some things are damp, particularly downstairs- I wouldn’t recommend 5-6 people staying here - and we had 2 heavy rainfalls which brought out cockroaches. But we loved the outside space, the quiet, the views, and visits from neighbourhood cats. If you like hiking all day and coming back to a view of a sunset over the ocean - and aren’t bothered by insects - this place is great.
