“This was one of the best vacations I ever have had. Everyone was so concerned that I was ok and enjoying myself. The Minnow became "my houseboat" as it was so well decorated and homey. I even discovered my soul sister there. I definitely will return, to relax, destress, kayak and see all of my Island City friends.”

“This place was so nice stayed for two nights kids begged for a 3rd. Saw turtles,beavers, muskrats. Both kids caught their first fish ever right off the dock. Definite core memories. Beds/bedding were comfy and clean. Beach around the corner. If you need there are public swimming pools near. We went to mt carrol public pool and it was perfect. Have already booked stay for next year!! Thank you!”

“We came back for a memorial service and used the time to have an early Christmas with family. There was a great charcuterie waiting for us and tons of baking ingredients stocked. Loved that they had travel size toiletries in each bathroom. Highly recommend.”

“This home has a wonderful enclosed front porch overlooking the Mississippi. We watched an eagle catch a fish right in front of us, and enjoyed the barge traffic going by. We also had spectacular sunrises while there. This home has PLENTY of room for a group. The only downside - the freight trains going through feet from the back of the home in the middle of the night blowing their horn. This woke us up at least 3 times a night.”

“We really appreciated the amenities (stocked kitchen, hair dryer). Loved the albums with the house history. Great location, nice touches in the house. Super clean! Loved the Iowa State Red (some more than others!)Hot tub was great once we realized there were colored lights!!!”

“We have a family tradition of staying with our family for a week. We cook, play, games and craft. This house fit all our needs! The hosts were on top of bringing us salt and a shovel when it snowed unexpectedly. They were so easy to deal with and checked on us.”

“Breakfast was "included" but was a few granola bars and old milk and cereal in a little closet. Everything else was great! Clean room and great service! Just plan to eat br3akfast elsewhere. ”
