“Amazing stay at The Getaway! The house is walkable to all things and on the way to the Gunflint Trail. If you are bringing Fido it’s also walkable to an amazing fenced dog park. Views spectacular.-furniture was uncomfortable -no washer/deyer-no access to water/beach-have to drive a bit if eating out.-a lot of things to do by driving-provided paper products very cheap,recommend bring ur own-had to go buy several cleaning items for kitchen. -house was clean-value partially worth it mainly because of views-burned out junk below the house sort of ruins setting”

“The location is ideal. The accommodations were as described, however, I would not review the toilet (outhouse) as super clean, as we had read on previous reviews. It was fine, but not exceptional. Just to reinforce, we were very glad we had a space heater for nights in the 40s and 50s. There is minimal wattage in the dome and so we had to keep the fan on low and did not dare raise the temp above 65°. It took the edge off. This is a great “primitive” experience. “The property was extremely clean and very well kept up with plenty of dishes in the kitchen. We used the grill and the fire pit and everything worked perfectly. Colette and Justin were attentive when we needed them and answered questions very quickly. The property itself is very close to the harbor and the downtown area and within walking distance to most of Grand Marais which was a huge plus for our family. We walked everywhere when we were in town. Very nice living and dining area which worked……
