'Wanna Get Away?' Leave those hassles and worries behind and come visit us in one of the most beautiful settings in the world. Overlooking the deer and elk populated Wet Mountain Valley framed by the Sangre De Cristo Mountain Range. Enjoy the pristine Rocky Mountains at their finest.

Sit in the porch swing where you can watch the sun go behind the longest contiguous 13,000 and 14,000 foot peaks in the world. Where the only sound you'll hear is the breeze whispering through the Ponderosa Pines, yet you're just minutes away from Canon City, home of the world famous Royal Gorge Bridge and the countries premiere section of white water adventures. Your cares will be forgotten as you experience world-class rock climbing in Red Canyon Park, fly fishing on the Upper Arkansas River, class II - IV+ white water rafting, or pursue the local antique and art galleries. Located on 27 private acres at 8000 feet between Canon City and Westcliffe.

This place is wonderful! Located in a very quiet, beautiful location. We enjoyed the serenity and seeing deer and turkey each morning. The cabin is very clean and cozy. Kitchen is well stocked. The hosts are very accommodating and friendly. The view from the front porch is beautiful. Sitting on the front porch and hearing nothing but the songs of the birds was so relaxing. Highly recommend staying here!!

A great Christmas present to ourselves

Our stay was relaxing and just perfect! We have stayed at MANY vrbo’s and this one ranks at the top. The cabin was beautifully decorated and had EVERYTHING we needed for a relaxing, no stress stay!

Great but owners on site

We didn’t know the owners stayed on site when we booked this place but John was friendly! We booked because we wanted a rural spot with acreage to walk and explore. My kids love to be outside. This fit exactly what we were looking for. The cabin was a rustic log cabin and had a wood burning fireplace. The kitchen was remodeled, I think it was an electric cook top and countertops. Very nice. Usually when we book a place it has cheap utensils and kitchenware, but this was not the case. Everything was great and useable. It made cooking there so much easier! Big plus for us. There was also a tire swing outside and an huge woodpile extra wood for the stove. John and his wife kept to themselves and we rarely saw them. It was a little awkward for us because we were not expecting anyone to be there, it didn’t say anything about the owners living on site. Not a real big deal but it was weird for us. We don’t live in the city and our closest neighbors live a mile away. So if that doesn’t bother you then this is an excellent place to stay. It has incredible views from the front porch to watch the sunrise come up on the mountains or to sit and swing on the porch and watch the stars at night. This would be a great place to have a weekend getaway. Just be prepared to share your yard with some mule deer!

A relaxing start to our holiday

We very much enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was beautifully presented, extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean. The views from the front deck are breathtaking and we were treated to a few visits from some wild turkeys, chipmunks and a wide variety of birds. John and Lynn are gracious hosts, very welcoming and friendly. We were very sad to leave this tranquil place behind!

So Relazing

We truly enjoyed our stay... and don't worry... the kitchen has EVERYTHING! The property could not be more relaxing, and we loved seeing the deer in the morning and evenings. John was/is amazing. Thank you is not enough, and we can't wait to get back!

Wonderful beyond words!

This property is so perfectly situated for a relaxing and peaceful vacation. The views are stunning at all times of day. When we arrived we knew we had made the absolutely right choice in picking this property. John, our very gracious host, met us to welcome us and provided helpful information about sites to see on the area. John was available for assistance and information throughout our stay and introduced us to Gizmo (I'll leave that as surprise for when you visit). The cabin was, of course, beautifully maintained and well appointed. You will not be disappointed if you choose to stay here.

Perfect Getaway

John's cabin was exactly what we needed to getaway and enjoy time together. The property was clean and comfortable with all the amentites. The cabin was close to all of our places of interest (Canon City/Colorado Springs) but out of the hustle and bustle of the cities. We cannot wait to come back with the whole family!

Amazing vacation home!

We loved every single thing about this beautiful cabin! It was so clean with lovely decor throughout. The owners were very kind, they respected our privacy, but were always available if needed. We had such a fun vacation and this location was the perfect home base for trips to Canon City, the Royal Gorge for whitewater rafting and ziplining, and downtown Salida for shopping and dining. Overall, this was one of our favorite family vacations and quite possibly the best vrbo property we have ever rented. We absolutely did not want to leave! Thank you John and Lynn, we hope to be back someday!

Amazing place with all you need!

We had a great stay here! It feels more like being hosted at someone's cabin/holiday home, with all of the amenities available that you could ever need & a very warm and welcoming host. We particularly loved the incredible view (pictures don't do it justice!) and wildlife around the property. Definitely recommend, only wish we could have stayed longer!

Clean, quiet, secluded, modern log cabin beautiful view.

I highly recommend this cabin. This is the best place my wife and I have ever stayed at. The modern cabin is very clean and well kept. The bed and furnishings are comfortable. All amenities needed are pesent. Note that all bedrooms are up stairs, if that is an issue for you or guests. We visited in July of 2024 and the views are fantastic. Lots of opportunity to hike and explore in the woods right there on the owners property. The owners, John and Lynn, are outstanding hosts.They communicate well and are willing to provide tips and insights to make your stay better than anticipated, should you desire. They will also respect your privacy. We hope to return there again. I recommend you don't pass this one up if want a beautiful, peaceful, relaxing place to experience.

John's cabin was amazing. From the moment we pulled up we were captivated by the view and thrilled at the mule deer that were grazing in the yard just a few feet away. It was cold outside so our host (John) had a fire blazing for us, which made the cabin even more inviting and tranquil. It was a great personal touch! The cabin was exceptionally clean and well appointed. We only used the bedroom with the king bed in it, which was really comfortable. The cabin is off the beaten path and away from the crowds, but still and easy and pretty drive into several different towns that are worth exploring. Each morning we were greeted again by the mule deer, up to 15 at a time as they grazed on their breakfast. Did I mention the scenery!?! Words and pictures are insufficient to describe the landscape surrounding the cabin. Towering snow capped mountains stood in the distance with forest trees surrounding the immediate area. Every direction left me in awe. My husband and I stay at a VRBO home approximately 4-5 times per year and I can say without reservation that this cabin is one of the best, if not the best, VRBO we have ever stayed in. The beauty, cleanliness, host, and the visits from the mule deer made our stay truly spectacular. My only regret is that we only booked for 3 days. We will definitely come back and book a longer stay as soon as we can.

Peace and Tranquillity

This cabin was exactly what we were looking for; a quiet and peaceful location with stunning mountain views from nearly every window! The owners have curated a comfortable, detailed and well-stocked retreat worthy of a magazine layout! One of the "draws" for us was the wood stove, which generated enough heat for the entire cabin. There was an alternate heater; but we LOVED the heat emanating from the wood stove. We enjoyed hiking/walking around the property as well; there is plenty of space outside to roam around and enjoy the fresh air. John and Lynn, the owners are nearby if you need them, but will let you have your privacy as well. We absolutely recommend this property for your getaway vacation.

A perfect cabin in a wondrous location

The hosts were very welcoming. We met John who gave us a good tour of the cabin and information about the area. John was always available if we needed him but never intrusive. The cabin was perfect for our needs. It was well stocked with all the amenities we required and had a lovely, homely feel. The surrounding area was absolutely stunning. We were blessed with a light smattering of snow on our last day and enjoyed both vistas. John feeds the deer each morning outside of the cabin and enjoying this scene provides the best start to each day. The only downside for us was thar we found the wifi to be a bit spotty, but we were prepared for this given the remote location. If you are thinking about booking this cabin, please do! We would definitely stay again.

A true mountain paradise

This is the kind of place you want to tell everyone you know about, so they can enjoy the splendor of this glorious mountain paradise. Our stay couldn’t have been more perfect. The mountain views were epic, the gravel roads for gravel biking were scenic, and the hosts were exceptionally welcoming. We were truly blessed to have enjoyed a restorative weekend at this beautiful mountain retreat.
