Mary and Jay were incredibly welcoming hosts who clearly love their animals, and are eager to share their experience with them if you are interested. Incredibly, almost all of the animals on their farm - cats, dogs, mini donkey, horses, and one of the alpacas - loved being petted. The location is beautiful, private, and peaceful. “It’s my second VRBO so I had tons of questions before and during and Monique was patient, communicative and quick to respond. As a mom of two littles I appreciated arriving to a clean place that had plenty of room for us to stretch out. “What a beautiful apartment, close to wine country and in beautiful surroundings. Very modern finishes and beautifully decorated with attention to detail, fully equipped kitchen, outdoor patio. We were two couples so the two bedroom, two bathroom was a perfect arrangement. We also enjoyed the property with sunset views from barn. Very convenient to wineries and hosts were hospitable and responsive!”

“This roomy 2nd floor apartment was attractively furnished, newly renovated and very clean. It is up a long flight of stairs so it would not be a good fit for those with mobility issues. It is within 1-2 blocks of shops and restaurants and a charming vintage movie theatre. It was a great staging area for our visits to the Virginia wine country.”

“First we found it strange that you enter into this unit through the bathroom. It is up a laneway behind a house and backs onto a subdivision. The “kitchenette” was not very clean with some leftover packages of food in drawer from previous guests and no microwave. It was a warm day when we arrived and the heat was on full blast and was controlled from another unit. It continued to blast heat for our whole visit. “This place could use some significant maintenance, but was fine for us; I can see why some people were less than thrilled with the facility. We took a gamble, and it was ok. Some things that stick in my memory: Of the two smoke detectors, the upstairs unit was missing from its mounting bracket and the downstairs unit had no batteries. “On check in and check out, no masks. Kim did put one on. Said it was overbooked. Upgrade to corporate apt. By pics, i would have stayed with suite. Old apt. Big living room. 2 couches. 2 ceiling fan light and floor lamp. Kitchen was ok. No can opener. Bath was clean and bright. Bedroom was smallish. A ceiling fan LIGHT. No other. I dragged the floor lamp in. One tv didnt eork. Somebody had bent the hdmi cord so when i went to bed, i transferred the LR cord to the BR. also the LR remote didnt……

“Perfect location & great amenities”

“First, we couldn’t find it. Nothing in our check in process identified how/where to locate entry to our accommodations. Other guests in the house let us know that our entry was “in the back” of the old house converted into multiple rental units. Second, the warm welcoming decor of our studio unit was obliterated by the thin door separating our bed pillows from the game room with pool table on the other side of the non- sound proofed plywood. Normal sounds kept us awake into the wee hours of the……

“This was the perfect base for our adventures exploring the Shenandoah River, Lake Shenandoah, Harper's Ferry, Jefferson Rock (best scenery ever--especially with fall colors), Shepherdstown, Charles Town, etc A beautiful area and a nice quiet place to go everywhere from.”

“The check-in and check-out processes were all very easy to follow. The property was extremely clean and spacious for the four of us staying there. The only downside was that the entire place smelt like cigarette smoke. Otherwise, the place looks and feels exactly how the photos show it. Overall, would not stay at this specific property again due to the smoke smell.”

“Since the cabin didn't have plumbing, They had a black tank under the cabin, it was so full the vapors were in the cabin. Not only was the smell so bad it set off my husband's copd, he had alot of problems breathing inside the cabin. On our check in day we arrived about 5pm, the cabin wasn't cleaned, trash, empty beer cans and unchanged bedding. We left the next morning, notified management. And to top everything off, no refund from VRBO. I recommend no one ever going here. ”

“Our time spent at the Farm House was wonderful! 14 of us from 12-80 years old all had a bed and a place at the dining room table! Perfect setting inside and out to celebrate my husbands birthday with all our children and grandchildren! We will be returning for future celebrations!”
