"Iconic old-world property in charming Berlin, MD -- although historic, it also is in need of a "facelift" that would preserve its historic significance yet also both modernize and update the property. Outstanding restaurant, front-porch and location. Although a bit "tired" -- strongly recommend for a nice "get-away.""

"We were NOT able to stay at the Phillips Inn because Travelocity screwed up the reservation. Travelocity said the res was confirmed, no need to call the property. I called day before arrival and was told they could not honor the res due to the death of the owner May 22. I made the res May 25. On June 22 Travelocity still had no idea the owner was deceased or what the property was doing. Call Travelocity Customer Service, 2 hour wait to talk to CSR. Used callback option, got call about 3 1/2...

" The location was perfect for what we came there for. The property itself is very old and needs a total renovation. The carpet throughout the facility was filthy and the mildew smell was everywhere. The people we met where very friendly and the staff was very nice. We stayed because there was no where else to stay. Not to mention the annoying siren. For a moment we thought it was "The Purge". The hotel needs a lot of work. Sorry, just being honest..."

"The check-in was fine. The gentleman was very friendly at the desk. The room was average. It appeared clean initially, but the shower did not drain And it smelled when you took a shower because the drain was backing up. Also, there was no stopper in the sink and there was a smell coming from the drain. When I turned down the bed at night, there was a blood stain on the sheets, which was really unappealing to see the least. They didn’t not have a phone in the room to contact the front desk. I had...
