"This is an exceptional ryokan. Only three rooms but very large rooms with a sunroom with "western style" chairs for those of us who aren't as limber as we used to be. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Quiet location with excellent views of the mountains. The food here is sensational and comes with English explanations of the dishes. They are very particular in adhering to any requests guests may have with regard to what they can and can't eat. The dining room has "western style" seating...

"Very traditional Japanese style inn. If you are looking for stainless steel, soulless, and sterilized, this is not the place for you. This place is old, with all of the patina that comes with that. The breakfast is an incredible traditional country food buffet with local highlights. The reception was warm and kind- and the tatami rooms were very spacious. Exactly the kind of authentic culture we wanted."
