The cottage sits on a beautifully landscaped one-acre property with the main house. Bike or walk to South Beach for fun in the sun, big waves and stunning views. Collect shells along the shores of Lighthouse Beach or take the Chappy Ferry for a day on Chappaquiddick. A short 7-minute drive to State Beach offers calm waters and an iconic jump off Jaws Bridge! Or enjoy a lovely stroll along cobblestone streets for some shopping and sight-seeing in historic Edgartown. Once you’ve spent the day exploring, come back to Idle Hour Cottage for a relaxing cocktail on a large private deck before heading to one of the Island’s delectable restaurants… or stay “home” and lounge on the patio, enjoying the always-spectacular sunsets.

** Please be assured that we have very strict cleaning practices as always:
• Check in/out is no person-to-person contact with our combination lock entry.
• All towels and bedding (including pillows) are washed in hot water at least 60ºC/140ºF and we have 3 sets of sheets in rotation, used 3 weeks apart.
• Kitchen and Bath are cleaned with hotel strength disinfectant.
• Other high-touch surfaces (including tabletops, chair handles, light switches, door handles, remotes, coasters, etc.) are cleaned with disinfectants as well.

• Per Edgartown Police, strict quiet hours are from 10 pm to 8 am.
• A Note About Our Security System: We have a RING security camera that monitors the pool area at the main house for safety. Please be aware that your movements may be captured if you are walking close to the pool. There are NO cameras in the cottage or around the cottage yard for your privacy.
