We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Cayres Suites Surdo. The location is excellent, there are some lovely restaurants and cafes nearby. Ronald the manager could not have been more helpful. Would wholeheartedly recommend this apartment to anyone.

Terrible place

First of all, we booked Cayres Suites surdo which is supposed to be better and closer to central location but manager emailed us last minute saying they had problem with booking and was not able to accommodate us. They wanted us to stay at Quinta Miramar, sister property instead. We had no choice due to flights all booked. The picture of Quinta Miramar is very misleading (the pool on 3rd floor which the key provided did not work). The room was very dark. Garden view is the view of the rock wall. The room was very outdated, rundown, and in poor condition. Wood floor in bedroom was creaking and fell like they were about to fall out. Outdated kitchen appliances that were straight out of the 50s. No toiletries (out of hand soap, shampoo, and shower gel). No basic standard things with every stay like coffee or tea. NO housekeeping provided but charge a cleaning fee if trash is not taken out or kitchen not cleaned. Dirty mugs with visible stain/dried solid stuff that I had to wash by hands due to the cleaning fee imposed. NO SAFE, NO AC or heater (only 1 fan available). The apartment was 15 mins away from old town and close to bus stop but bus runs every 30 mins and out often full which driver would refuse to stop. We would never stay there again or deal with the same company. We had a feeling they intentionally took our money for the nicer apartment but last minute placed us in the terrible one. Hotels.com customer service was not able to reach them either despite multiple trials

+ Very nice and stylish apartment in the center of madeira. The communication to the property manager Ronald was very pleasant and flexible. We were allowed to stay till 3 o‘clock at the apartment at the checkout day. The kitchen is well equipped and the livingroom is generous. - there is no air conditioner and in bath- and bedroom there is only a tiny window. It also had very little storage space for the clothes and bagage. But all in all we have enjoyed it very much and we would recommend this apartment to other couples, for sure! Thanks Ronald!

Location and cleanliness were excellent, also very good security.Tge internet was ok, not great. However, there is NO air conditioning and no cross breeze from the windows so it’s pretty much stifling hot inside. It’s actually cooler outside than inside the apartment. Also leaving the windows open lots of mosquitoes came inside. Communication with the owner was good yet it took 4 days for his colleague to come and bring a couple of items. Literally there was one toilet roll for our 10 day stay, no tea or coffee, no sugar, no basic items that are standard in every apartment I’ve stayed in. Would I stay again, definitely not as it’s very uncomfortable with NO air conditioning. There was a pedestal fan yet it was useless. Because there is a 2 bedroom apartment next to this one that’s air conditioned I thought this apartment was too, sad mistake of mine.

Perfect apartment with beautiful garden

Absolutely loved this 2 bedroom appartment.. beautifully decorated to a high standard and in the best location of Funchal.. I booked it specifically for the garden and I wasn’t disappointed, loved it.. travel to Madeira a lot and have stayed all over the island and this is my favourite.. stayed in February, coming back next week but had to book elsewhere as this wasn’t available ☹️Would recommend 100%

Very well kept and clean, making our stay just wonderful. Close to most restaurants, places of interests, supermarkets and easy access to buses. The Marina is just close by and its a bliss just going for a walk. Ronald is most helpful with our airport transfers and with questions pertaining to visits. Highly recommended.

Lovely apartment right in the centre of Funchal. Really good for a couple. Very clean, with a nice seating area outside. We enjoyed our stay very much and would love to go back.

Exceptional value for money.

I can not recommend this place enough. The house is finished to an amazing standard and no expense spared. We travelled with 3 children ( aged 9,7 & 8 Months ). And there was plenty of room for us all. We had asked for a travel cot through Expedia but this message wasn’t passed on to the owners. So no travel cot. But one was quickly arranged for us. No issues. The house itself had washing powder to use with the washing machine so we had cleaned all out clothes before our return journey which was very handy. Hair dryer, towels, shampoo and shower gel are all provided. There was a hidden bathroom in the front bedroom with the kids loved. The air con works wonders. WiFi is throughout. Although the black folder manual left in the front room needs updating I.e the password for upstairs is different and we only knew this from the sign behind the door not the book. The outdoor space is very private. And you feel so safe and secure there. We took a paddling pool with us and put it in the terrace. There was still plenty of room. There’s also an outdoor shower which was so handy. The house itself is in an amazing location. Not far at all from anything. But on a lovely quiet street. We arranged transfer to the airport through our booking and that was seamless. We have a rule that we visit a different country each holiday. But this has honestly questioned that. And we will definetly be back. Thank you we will be recommending this place to everybody I know.

Wunderschönes und neues Stadthaus.

Wir haben uns vom ersten Moment an pudelwohl gefühlt. Alles ist wunderbar, sauber und neu und man fühlt sich wie zu Hause. Es wurde wirklich bei allem (von Komfort der Betten und Bettwaren) bis zur Ausstattung der Bäder Und Küche Wert auf Qualität gelegt. Das einzige, was wir vermissten, war ein Wäscheständer und der versprochene Grill aber das ist Jammern auf sehr hohem Niveau. Ich würde jederzeit wiederkommen. Wir hatten herrliche 10 Tage.
