「Rooms are very basic but acceptable, bed was comfy enough. The problem is that there is no possibility to open the windows so in 4 days fresh air never entered the room. There is a sign saying there is always fresh air coming in despite windows are closed but that’s only if you are ok with freezing with air con…I get it is linked to safety but you would just need to install some block of sort on the windows not to open completely, not let the people not get fresh air whatsoever. 「This is a novelty choice that we thoroughly enjoyed. Where else can you say you’ve stayed at a hotel built in 1475 and reputedly hosted King Henry VIII? The front of the hotel looks very much from the Middle Ages and could use a refresh (if preservationists would allow it). The public house on the ground floor looks like it’s been serving patrons reliably for centuries and was full of life.
