“Nice country pub with a cozy atmosphere. Our room was great, really clean and well presented, comfy bed and pillows, en-suite bathroom with a good shower and a decent size. Owners provided a fan which was very welcome during this current heatwave. We were greeted by Jacob in reception, really helpful, polite and respectful and he showed us to our room. “The bed was super comfy and a king size. Towels were fluffy and big. Room was hot but it was the time of the heatwave and a fan was already in the room so all good. The breakfast was delicious and loads of it. The staff were also great, particularly Jimmy who showed us to our room, he served us a pint and said that if it was not up to standard, to let him know and he’d change it! All great customer service, all round from everyone at the Nags Head - well done all!”

We were told half the meals on the menu were not available, plus the draught beer was also not available. I ordered fish and chips, which when arrived the fish was hard as a rock and definitely not fresh. They got me another one but that too wasn’t very good either. “The hotel is ok, we had a twin room in the cottage lodge, no 526, it was quite a walk from reception. Most of the staff were helpful and cheerful. The hotel is looking somewhat dated, the room needed a good deep clean, shower head and bath mat needed replacing, I did write this to the manger in the initial check in review, as we were only staying 1 night it wasn’t worth complaining about. The car park needs re signing as cars didn’t know which way to go round!”

“The attic rooms, which are expensive, are not fit for purpose in hot weather. No air-con, of course, but you can barely open the windows. The sun blasts on to the roof just above and creates an oven! The provided fan was little help. Very bad night's sleep. The unhelpful receptionist told me that the hot room was due to the heat. I asked if we could swap rooms, but he said the hotel was fully booked, despite a portable sign outside saying 'Rooms available tonight'. Breakfast was very poor.……

“Bit disappointed really with the lady of the house.She seemed very helpful offered her services as a cab to pick our car up which was very nice of her so I took her up on that and she said put another £10 on the bill which I paid gladly. When she spoke to my wife a little later my wife offered her £20 pound for the journey and she gladly took it without mentioning that I had already paid but on her conscious be it won’t be going back strangely enough”
